Takes time to get show reports. Minuets were with VAC. We are still getting Florida show reports! The TAS report on the Florida show only came out today.

Yes, and it does. Room costs (we had 3 rooms, including a large ballroom), materials, marketing, brochures, banners, all the staff, shipping, meals, hotel rooms, flights, etc. Figure on $40k.

I left Monday. Had to walk on the interstate to O’Hare with other pilots, Mothers carrying crying babies and more for over 45 minutes. It was like an apocalypse.

Having seen this beauty in person this weekend, I can honestly say, this should have been called the S6. The dual 10’s (vs dual 9’s) look so much bigger. The cabinet looks soooooo much bigger. S6 for me all day.
Oh and the fit and finish is...
We have 3 rooms, maybe 4. Debuting the new Auditorium Plus (double sided midrange and double sided tweeter ribbons to match the double sided bass). All new internal tuning mechanism. No tools required.

That’s nothing to do with the forum. That message was because you were not logged in. You’re clearly logged in now if you can make posts.

Well, a few others above haven’t had an issue. I’ll run some additional tests and see if we can make some size adjustments.

No issue here. By the way, this album on Tidal on the version “max” is unreal. Sounds better than…gasp…the vinyl.

Not that I’m aware of and others above are not having issues. It COULD be the file is too large….but I’m unaware of any specific limits. Maybe try resizing the picture (as a test if you don’t mind) and try again.

Not sure anyone has heard the new S5 yet, except for folks at the factory. Peter told me it’s awesome and has really grown in size. Maybe it’s a replacement for the S5 and S7 in doing so? Who knows?

The S5 mk2 came out 9 years ago.
Avantgarde’s Duo Mezzo XD was $55k 9 years ago at launch, the new version is $95k today.
If I’m not mistaken, the Wilson Alexia has also gone up by about the same amount over the same time period.
I don’t...
With Magico, I can see where the money goes. Clearly.
They aren’t over inflated psycho acoustic nonsense speakers in cheap Chinese cabinets with tiny drivers and a bright tweeter with exorbitant pricing.

$74,500/pair in S5 Softec. $83,000/pair in S5 Gloss.
Anyone interested in a pair needs to contact me before the end of April to take advantage of our trade-in/trade-up program.

I don’t understand the whole iPhone app to control the amp approach. I like a good old fashioned remote. The new Rogers amp we have in the store is all “app to control it”. No remote. Guess what? Apple just deleted their app from the App Store...
I think only a good demo will decide for you. For box speakers, Magico is one of the best. YG has some nice speakers too, their active is quite interesting. YG have a unique approach amongst their direct competitors, they just haven’t figured...
I was casually into audio back in the late 1920's to early 80's. My best components were a pair of Cizek Model 1's and NAD 3020 amp. I have about five and a half feet of LPs from that era. In the mid 1980's I added a CD player but my opportunities to listen were few, and my setup was un-setup. I accumulated some CDs over the years, but all I had to listen on was my Cambridge Soundworks computer speakers. Which is to say, I didn't really listen at all.
Circumstances changed, and mid 2018 I decided to start over with a new stereo. Of course I was starting over from scratch, with the whole digital world new to me. I read a lot, picked some modest components, and found that a good dealer within half an hour carried both. So I appeared in their shop one day, told them what I was interested in, and they set that combination up for me. At the end of a piece I was VERY familiar with, all I could say was "I've never heard it like THAT before!"
A few weeks later I ordered the amp I had listened to, and a couple of months later the speakers. I set them up the best I could using Jim Smith's book and DVDs, but I am afraid I don't have the listening experience to make the most of it. My ears are not golden, not near it. And my room is... problematic. Still, there are times it sounds great to me.
So what did I buy? A NAD Master Series M32 DirectDigital Amplifier with the MDC BluOS module. A pair of Magneplanar 1.7i speakers. My old turntable, which sat untouched for 30+ years, has not been connected. My CDs were all ripped to FLAC and are shared from my desktop computer's SSD drive. Wired ethernet connects it together, and I control it with an iPad and the BluOS app. My ISP provides 250+ Mbps internet speed, and TIDAL HiFi is my primary music source besides my FLAC rips.
What is missing? A CD player. My ancient one has no digital out. Since any CD I buy will be ripped to FLAC I would only need one to play disks others might bring over. And no turntable. My old Yamaha was nothing special when it was new around 1980, and I don't suppose sitting for 30+ years has helped it any. When I contemplate buying, oh maybe a Rega, Pro-Ject or even PolyTable, the prospect of cleaning all those disks daunts me. And if I have more than two LPs worth anything that aren't available on TIDAL I haven't found them yet.
