Do you have pictures? The Acoustat X was only sold with the Servo-Charge amps, so either the transformers were "retro-fitted" or they are actually Monitor 3's.

Although it is a bit counter-intuitive (given the price range), MSB owners seem to move up to higher-priced MSB DACs, and you (or Mike) may be able to find a used Discrete (with the necessary options) in your preferred price range.
