    Tariff implications.........

We'll have to disagree about this. Some of those news outlets you mention are compulsive about fact-checking, and Fox News is notorious for not bothering (or even worse, continually discussing things as true that it knows are false). I don't really care about opinion in the news, only...

    Tariff implications.........

Except the the actual MSM in the US today is Fox News (by far the most watched TV news), which hardly parrot's Democratic Party positions or talking points.

    Tariff implications.........

Sure, but posts from @Mike and @atmasphere provided interesting information and opinions that were not overtly political (AFAICT)

    Tariff implications.........

IMHO this is an inaccurate representation; I think you and several others (perhaps including me) are at least as guilty as you claim @mep is. FWIW I agree with most of what you have said in your posts; not the various ad hominem attacks (Trump is abhorrent, but discussing that doesn't really...

Don't you have Costco in Florida? It has jeans ranging in price from about $14-15 (on sale) and up.

    Streamer Shoot Out

Which was my point. From a local drive (SSD, NAS, etc) one can load an entire album (or several) into RAM prior to play; doing this may result in slightly better sound than streaming, where the player typically can only buffer one song into RAM at a time and thus is frequently both buffering...

    Streamer Shoot Out

Can you not load your music from the NAS into RAM before playing?

    Why I Stopped Using Roon

All I can think is that some posters here must be desperate to find "new" music to listen to, rather than enjoying the music itself. For me at least, listening to the music I like at the best sound quality available to me is what it is all about (and has been for the past several decades); I...

    Proper Asymmetrical Speaker Installation

FWIW, Peter Moncrief (of International Audio Review) was a big fan of slightly asymmetric speaker placement, and IIRC there was at least one in-depth analysis and some recommendations in that magazine (if you can find it anywhere). He was also a big fan of ASC and his recommendations probably...

6 Reasons Why I’m Breaking Up With Vinyl and Going Back to CDs

It's a little hard for me to see how a totally subjective review can be honest or dishonest; IIWII, so to speak, and I don't see how a reader can determine whether or not the reviewer's opinions are "dishonest". One may not agree with methods or conclusions; that hardly makes it "dishonest".

Why the Obsession With Measurements Is Leading to Worse-Sounding Gear

That is your interpretation; mine is simply that ASR pays little attention to listening, only measuring, just as many "audiophile" reviews pay little or no attention to measurements. This is a comment on the Website itself, not on the value of measurements in audio reviews or component evaluations.

Why the Obsession With Measurements Is Leading to Worse-Sounding Gear

But it does illustrate the irrelevance of listening tests at ASR, which was my point

Why the Obsession With Measurements Is Leading to Worse-Sounding Gear

There are sometimes listening comments on speakers and headphones, not always. And what about the time that Amir did a listening test on a pair of speakers where one of the drivers was disconnected; he didn't even notice it. Really, measurements are best utilized as a measure of whether or not...

Why the Obsession With Measurements Is Leading to Worse-Sounding Gear

That's basically equivalent to having TAS put selected measurements into only some reviews (which it does); in neither case does it contribute anything useful
