    Here's A Question...

In my high school electronics class, the teacher one day did a set-up and we listened to frequencies. We all and a teacher in his twenties were 20 - 20,000 even a bit more. Our teacher in his 50's said "I can't hear much past 12,000." Recently (just turned 71), did a test using an online...

    Unipivot VS Gimbal

Marty- How are you liking this upgrade? I am pondering upgrading my Classic I; this tonearm and cartridge are on the short list. Either on the Classic I or a new table, namely VPI Dragon. Thanks, John

    Class D if so inclined

Tom- This has the gears in the old madula turning! A quick google revealed sources for the Purifi 9040 and power supplies along with user guides. Perhaps a winter project 2026 may be in the making. Not having a "Double E" background would most likely have me looking at an SMPS from...

We have thought of getting some better sound for a bedroom TV, think it's about 50." Is there a simple solution anyone might know of? No desire for a sub woofer, 5.1 etc; mainly more clarity in the spoken words. Thanks, John

    Tariff implications.........

Very Cool Randy. Always fun to catch-up. I would be remiss not to add: After touring the factory although McIntosh is expensive (from my view) it didn't seem as expensive after seeing what went into the manufacturing.

Very Good Mike, Thank you as well! A tube blowing up never crossed my mind. OUCH! Hope it didn't damage your equipment. John

    Tariff implications.........

Hi Randy- Yes, it seems other than some "business like" tidying up and access to more R&D cash, McIntosh remains. I called a few months back; a live person still answers the phone and I was pleased with the tech support. I know in the past I whined some but in the end, that too came to a...

    Tariff implications.........

Hey Mike- Please do not be sorry. We all have our opinions. All part of a vibrant democracy. I was not looking to belittle anyone, just tossing in my “two cents.” That said, I guess my sentence referencing The Post could have been worded a bit differently to reduce the likelihood of those with...

    Tariff implications.........

Hi Mike- Yes, you surmise correctly! We have been Times subscribers for decades, seven days per week. Although, dropped at the bottom of our 200 foot driveway rather then the front door. I also receive links to The Post from a friend on various topics (many political) daily. When moving to New...

    Tariff implications.........

WOW. This thread has been enlightening. Lots of passion from lots of view points. Me, recently turning 70 and having lived in the Metro New York area my whole life… Don’t think tariffs will replace income tax on anything much less begin to pay down 30+ trillion dollars in US debt. Just as DOGE...
