I've read that HiFi Rose has the capacity to stream YouTube audio. It supposedly sounds good.
There are many great videos on YouTube with some great music that is not available elsewhere.
In particular NPR Tiny Desk Concerts.
I know you can connect audio from the TV via interconnects...
quite a few years back they were all the rage.
I just noticed them again in the "Stereophile" reccomended list.
I know probably most of us here have a pile of them in a drawer somewhere.
Does anyone here use them or have used them.
Have you heard any noticeable differences?
I have an Xfinity combo switch router/modem. It is approx 25 feet from my Lumin and I currently use a Supra ethernet cable to connect it.
A friend just purchased a Nordost ethernet cable and really likes it as it has provided a nice SQ increase.
This got me thinking of maybe trying a better...
A recent discovery on Qobuz that I really like ( Artist: Jacqui Naylor Album: Live East West Song: My Funny Valentine)
Starts off with a piano melody followed by some laughter then breaks into the rest of the song.
Do you know why the laughter?
Please don't post a respond until Thursday 7/22...
I am looking into making improvements in my network delivery system.
I currently have an Xfinity combo Modem/router/switch. Basic model.
Are there any separate pieces (of reasonable cost) that would be an upgrade from this?
Any with fiber optic out in case that would be a good thing to do?
Ive read where some have used FMC's to use fiber cable in place of a long run of Cat type cable.
Looking for feedback on this.
I have a 10M Cat 8 to my server and wonder if there would be an improvement by going the fiber optic route.
I have seen where it is recommended to use Cat5e or Cat6 unshielded cable for a Lumin per Wklie.
What is the reasoning behind this?
Can shielded cable be used? What about the Cat7 or Cat8 cables?
My Lumin is the only thing hard wired to my combo Xfinity router/switch so wouldn't think ground...
Just read that Jud passed away several weeks ago.
He produced some innovative and excellent sounding gear.
Currently using his LA150 MKII Signature Plus preamp and it is one of the most full range and dynamic preamps that I have heard.
May he rest in peace.
A move of my audio system to a different room has put some set up challenges before me.
I have a possibility of firing the speakers from either of the short wall locations or from one of the long walls.
I have removed most of the furniture and or pushed it to the side.
I have pulled out some...
My brother called me yesterday looking for a recommendation for a pair of speakers.
He doesn't want to spend more than $1000. New or used OK. Front ported or sealed. No subs. Max size
24"X14X14. They are to fit in a built in bookcase. Amplifier is a vintage Solid State Harmon Kardon.
He listens...
For the past several years it seems like there was a plethora of new and greatest DAC's being introduced.
Along with renderers, servers and players of all sizes and shapes.
Now not so much. It's like the dust has settled and now we get to actually sort out what is good. from that flurry of...
I might be stuck on stupid but I can't find any audio test tracks on Tidal.
Looking for test tones, balance, Etc.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm thinking of trying out a Solid State amplifier.
I have always used tubes but want to try something with some more power and also like the control of the bass from a solid state amp. Coming from tubes, a liquid mid range is very desirable.
With a somewhat limited budget this will be a second...
I recently purchased a pair of used speakers. The seller shipped them via freight.
I was very pleased with the service the shipper provided.
Fast shipping time, gently handled and very good communication on both the tracking side and providing personal phone contact to make delivery...
