So how old is your "oldest" component?

    Nice, very professional looking!

    All my gear is Vintage.

My newest piece of gear is a pair of 1983 Klipsch Cornwalls that were modified 20 years ago to Cornscala’s. (Looks like a series lV Cornwall and sounds like it too!). Oh, I forgot about my Schiit Vali 3 which I bought a year ago.

So how old is your "oldest" component?

My 65 year old HH Scott 272 amp, which runs superbly. (Is superbly even a word?). It’s the second one down.

    What are you watching?

One of my favorites is “The Uninvited” with Ray Milland, from 1944. It’s considered a classic and it’s the first movie that actually shows a ghost, instead of someone dressed in a white sheet. And the beautiful “Stella By Starlight” theme runs through the movie. In eerie black and white too!

    Headphones, got any favorites?

I realize these aren’t special, but my Beyerdynamic 990 Pro and my very new HiFiMan HE400 SE’s sound great with my (pictured here) Schiit Vali 3.

Do you use an integrated in your main system?

I’m old school, my integrated’s are all I use - HH Scott’s finest tube amps, the 272, 296, 299C and 299D. It’s all in the transformers, they say.

DS Audio optical cartridge system review. The best ever, no joke.

Imagine…………….your record lasting as long as a CD! ………….no wear and tear!

What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

HH Scott tube amps for me, first heard a demo of them against the mighty McIntosh 275 ( I forgot what the Mac pre was) but playing each one through to Klipsch Cornwall speakers I was flabbergasted to what I was hearing! Blew me away!

Best Pure Musical Amplifiers (power not important)

    Here’s a shot of my HH Scott’s, from 1959’s model 272 - 1961’s model 296 - a 299C from 1963 and a 299D from 1964, all sounding super sweet!

So how old is your "oldest" component?

Oldest is my 1962 Empire 298 turntable, which is now awaiting a new belt.

    Beethoven's 7th 2nd Movement: "Allegretto"

Sublime was the word created for the second movement of the 7th Symphony. And if it wasn’t, well it should have been!
