    I think you might just be able to fit with GZ34. The 5U4G is about 5" measured from the base and the GZ34 is about 2.75". So there is a 2.25" of leeway. When I change mine sometime in the weekend, I will take some measurements.

    A saw a bunch of DS pre off-late offered for sale. Not sure what folks are upgrading to as I thought this pre is pretty good. How do you compare it to the Supratek ? I am thinking Supratek DHT or a passive pre.

    Just for the whims, yesterday I changed the rectifier to a Valvo NOS GZ34 that I had laying around. Immediately the base tightened up and slightly more fuller image. Looks like there is much to be had from this dac :)

    Streaming can equal or even exceed a good CD player. Just buy the Taiko extreme and couple of PF modded Melco switches :) Why not ? Isn't last couple of stretches of the marathon that matter in both the cases ? :rolleyes:
