A few hours with the M7's

Hi again Rex. I think the benefits i'm hearing with the subs may come from their low power output. These are only 325 watts each. And they just add enough mid to low bass as to give them more of what the S5s do. Now, the S5 bring more to the listening than just mid to low bass output. But, for...

A few hours with the M7's

Thanks for the great information on Pink Faun. If I go with the Scion it will be next year. When SVS was just a start up I had two of their 20-39 passive subs that I ran with a Carver Cube amp. They are hard to beat for the money. I pulled them out of the system when I got the S3's. I didn't...

A few hours with the M7's

“If you are looking for an analytical "hifi" sound, then I don't think you'll like the Scion. If you prefer musical and organic, it's wonderful.” I have no idea what that means in the real world. Sounds like an AI statement. But, thanks for the input!?

A few hours with the M7's

I've had a few weeks to think and rethink my time listening to both the S5s and M7s and the impressions they made on me and my system. My gut tells me the only way I can elevate my current system is to bring in the Pink Faun Scion. But, that is a pretty big jump in my financial investment. I...

    Pink Faun Owners Thread

Very cool. I see in the manual that it is recommended to plug the unit straight into the wall. Is that to have better control to the power supply? Oh, welcome. And by the way which one is Pink?

    Pink Faun Owners Thread

I've been unable to find a good picture of the back of the Pink Faun Scion. Their website has as far as I can find only one picture of the the Scion and it's a angled view of the front. I've seen on some videos a passing shot of the back and its connections. But no clear shots or views. I've...

A few hours with the M7's

You are correct of course Mike. Living with a system and making small or sometimes big changes over time is what this hobby is about. It's just easy to lose track at what you have sometimes. Saturday kind of reminded me of what I have.

A few hours with the M7's

I've had a few days to think about my time with Ed in his room with some amazing speakers and equipment. Since Saturday I've also been listening to my system and doing some comparing. My system I would guess is worth about 10% of what's in his room. And I just keep thinking how much I appreciate...

A few hours with the M7's

We didn't listen to the Wadax on Saturday. We started in a small room where Ed has a smaller system using a Revox reel to reel to a Tidal integrated amp and the Magico A3's which I think are a really good speaker for its size. Then moved to the main room and listened to a few Cds I brought. Neil...

A few hours with the M7's

The speakers have only been with Ed for about two weeks. So, some repositioning could take place. My main concern was about the height of the audio rack between the speakers. Ed moved the rack that was at the left side and behind the listening chair. He claims that it opened up the rooms sound...

A few hours with the M7's

I wanted to thanks Ed DeVito of AudioUltra for the privilege of spending a few hours listening and talking audio this past Saturday. A few week ago I was at the same room listening to the S5's. So, comparing and enjoying this level of systems back to back was a real pleasure. With the help of Ed...

    Power surge fried my MA5300

A few years back I had two 10' copper whole earth grounding rods installed in my yard as well as a 60 amp sub panel that powers my stereo room. All outlets are in phase and with one of these my home is pretty well protected.

Best way to add and cross-over dual subs in a 2-channel system?

I've found the sub out from my preamp to be the easiest when I had my two SVS 2000 Pros hooked up to my system. SVS have a app that uses bluetooth to connect and control phase, crossover and volume if you choose not to use the controls on the back of the subs. If you only have one sub out from...
