A pair of Paradigm Athena speakers are being given to me by a nephew who is downsizing prior to retirement. I'll likely try these in one of my home theater systems, in place of some 12 year old SVS tower speakers. Are the Paradigms a good speaker? I've heard them but that has been 10+ years ago...

I have two Blu-Ray players that get very little use. We will watch an occasional Blu-Ray movie, but that's about it. Is there a use for Blu-Ray players in audio systems? Also, I have a couple "low end" Yamaha CD changers. Can they be used in a high end system? Do they sound very good?

How well does the parametric EQ in DSP apps sound? I've read where equalizers in general introduce noise. Maybe in some instances it's a quality issue, I don't know? My Roon nucleus has DSP with a parametric EQ. I haven't tried the DSP EQ out on my Roon yet. I'm curious to hear from anyone that...
