I used something like this when I had a Phase Linear 400 with a 200,000 uF power supply. That bulb was blindingly bright when I turned the amp on :cool:

Magnepan 3.6 speakers tweeter / mid-range internal passive crossover has been moved outboard featuring Duelund Cast caps and inductors and 6 9s copper Neotech wiring.

Used for Magnepan 3.6 speakers that are tri-amped with subs: Pass Labs XVR-1-3 way crossover with Jupiter, V-Cap Copper, Silmic II , and Black Gate capacitors and a few naked Vishay resistors. 20 iterations of changes and several hundred hours of listening to get it right. These unit also...

This Sansui TU 717 tuner circa 1977 from the "golden age" (which replaced the still owned, but not used Dynaco FM5). Tuner was completely upgraded with Black Gate & other caps and realigned.

This is a great thread. Lots of info for tube rollers. I don't even own a preamp that takes these tubes, but I still like it!

Bern's... I was there with my wife once maybe 30 years ago. We got soaked in one of those Tampa afternoon Summer rains. Total pandemonium, it was Prom Night. Very entertaining if you like to see teenagers having a ball. Oh, the food was terrific.
