Since they are the same DAC, perhaps you may look into upgrading the CD transport or/and clock. Also note that you can power down the network board in N-05XD when you're using a non-network digital input.
1. Please power cycle the whole network of devices starting from the router, Wi-Fi access points, network switches, including Lumin, iPhone, computer, etc.
2. Disconnect the DAC from Lumin.
3. Factory reset the Lumin in Lumin app settings...

Ah, that's easy. They're connected to my Constellation Inspiration integrated amp's speaker terminals. The S400IIs also have nice binding posts; Mads really went through and used very-high quality parts throughout this speaker's components.

This is normal and expected. One click is just 0.5dB. All the way to either side means -10dB only, which is not going to mute the sound from one speaker (which is neither the intention nor necessary for the balance feature).
