McIntosh Group Acquired by Highlander Partners

Interesting, Mac is like one of my old girlfriends from High school, getting passed around lately ......:sigh:

Fine Sounds purchased McIntosh from D+M Holdings, a Bain company, in 2012.
In 2014 Charlie Randall and Mauro Grange purchased Fine Sounds with two private equity partners. They subsequently purchased Audio Research, Wadia, Sumiko, and some others I may have forgotten. Somewhere along the way they changed the company name to McIntosh Group and sold Audio Research back to a group of AR an employees.

Fast forward to 2022 and it’s likely the original private equity partners were looking for an exit. 8 years is a long hold time in the private equity world. So this in not unexpected, and portends nothing.

Yeah but does it sound less mid-fi than a cardboard box?
Awaiting review. Hopefully we'll see some mods like better feet.

Not much for storage convenience if you have to unscrew all those screws each time you want to store something. I see velcro in the future.

But wait, don’t rush! There is an upgrade coming up. It will add additional features like galvanic isolation and RFI and RMI suppression. Just a $999 upgrade.
