At Scott Walker Audio (Anaheim, CA) I heard Rockport Atria IIs driven by McIntosh Mc611 mono power amplifiers. I also heard those amplifiers driving Magico A5s. The Aria/McIntosh combination was simply fabulous. The Magico/McIntosh combination was also very good, but not as "listenable" overall as the Rockports. For me, the Rockport/McIntosh together was seductive; I just didn't want to stop listening to them.
The 302 has been upgraded to become the 312, but I think that the basic qualities remained the same. Consequently, there shouldn't be much different sonically between the 302 and my 611s.
