Help!! New Mcintosh c2600 preamp InfoDisplay doesn't work anymore
Got a brand new c2600, it was working fine for about 2 months and suddenly the INFORMATION DISPLAY (indicates the Sources, Volume, other Audio Settings, Operational Functions and Setup Mode Settings) stopped to work, it doesn't light up, doesn't show anything.
Other front lights are working fine - meters, LEDs etc.
I am still using the C2600, the sound is great, but without Information display
It means I cannot configure anything and cannot switch connections
Any help is much appreciated
thank you

Welcome to the forum, thank you for joining.
Congratulations on the C2600. I think there’s a reset that you can try but I don’t remember.
Have you asked your dealer?Fleetwood Deville by Oswald Mills Audio, Vienna Acoustics Haydn Jubilee, Wharfedale Linton w/ stands, Klipsch RB-75, Klipsch RP-160M.

Re: Help!! New Mcintosh c2600 preamp InfoDisplay doesn't work anymore
The most likely culprit is a loose ribbon cable.

audiolyub.......Resetting the microprocessor may help and does not require the display to perform.
Reset of Microprocessors In the unlikely event the controls of the C2600 stop functioning, the microprocessors can be reset by performing the following: 1. Press and hold in the STANDBY/ON Push-button until the LED above the STANDBY/ON Pushbutton illumination is extinguished. Then release the STANDBY/ON Push-button. 2. To switch the C2600 back On, press the STANDBY/ON Push-button. Note: This can be performed with the C2600 On or in the Standby Mode.
I would also do what Oly suggested. Try unplugging and reconnecting both ends of the ribbon cables.Dan

Unfortunately, Reset of Microprocessors did not help. I have tried a few times with ON and Standby mode

Did you buy this from a local retailer? They are there to help you after a sale. You might also contact McIntosh service center.

Re: Help!! New Mcintosh c2600 preamp InfoDisplay doesn't work anymore
Yes I bought it from a retailer but not really "local"
It is about 600km from my location. Therefore I would need to pack it and send by post and wait until a repaired preamp will come back also by the post. Honestly, i would like to avoid any post if possible. That is, actually , why i have asked audioshark community for a help here

audiolyub.......Have you tried unplugging and reconnecting the ribbon cables between the main board and the front display panel board?

Agreed on the new series. Never could get into the older series. One of the reasons I like the newer series is Hiroyuki Sanadai's performance. I remember first seeing him in The Last Samurai.
