I need to hear the new McIntosh pieces. Love the fact that this is both tube and solid state in one preamp.
For connecting the C12000 to your amplifier(s) and the rest of your home music system, there are four total outputs: one balanced vacuum tube; one balanced solid-state; one fixed unbalanced; and one programmable unbalanced (can be either vacuum tube or solid-state).Last edited by joeinid; November 19, 2021 at 12:12 PM.

Re: C12000 2-Channel Solid State and Vacuum Tube Preamplifier
Looks to be really versatile.
A few companys offer the tube or SS option in same component. Cary does it and Peachtree used to. I have mixed feelings, it's nice to have that choice but I'd think a person would end up preferring one or the other, it adds to the expense. Then again, we seem to change gear at times so could be handy again.Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd

Certainly an interesting product. Imagine the SolidState/Tube versatility with a pair of 901's.
Think I'll continue to "slum" it with my system as is.AKA J2Ordan

Tongue in Cheek, My Friend, Tongue in Cheek
I am quite happy with how my system has settled in with no changes for the past several months. That said,
it's amazing how we all can get up-grade-bug when something new appears. I for one am doing my best "know nothing" for a while (hopefully).
That said, really curious to check out those new 3500 mk II some time.
Enjoy the Sounds,
JohnAKA J2Ordan
