Re: Q1
really elegant looking. Almost purchased Q1. Tremendous bass reproduction for such a small box. However after prolonged listening a little too forward sounding soundstage. Perhaps a bigger room with a longer listening axis would b a better fit than my current room. thnx for great photo.

Re: Q1
I haven't heard either but Mike has mentioned he heard em and directed me to go listen to the magico s1's . Said he prefered the s to the q. I'm looking for a place to hear them now, because I'm in the market for a great 2 way speaker. So magico , sonus, raidho and harbeth are all on my list to hear.
Thx for the info.Steve

Re: Q1
The Q1's do nothing wrong. Although the S1's go a little lower (in the room), the Q1's do nothing wrong. BUT, they are not as emotionally involving as the S1's IMO. The S1/S5 are home runs for Magic IMO.

Re: Q1
I agree with Mike. And have said that exact statement even. The Q series in general are that way. The S1/S5 capture the emotion of the music much better. I would get a pair of S1s in a heart beat if I had a place to put them.

Re: Q1
Ok we're going to cancel that idea. Hearing the s1's in NYC is right around the corner from rhapsody, and I have an appointment at 3 pm on oct 1st. But I don't think I'm going to go.
The guy I spoke to was a straight up prick!! Whe I told him I was going to rhapsody to hear raidhos, he didn't have much to say good about raidhos, absolare.
And then threw out the "I have the s1's but I'd rather have the s5's unless you can't afford them" then when I told him I was meeting friends who like to travel all over and listen to and buy gear he said " I'd rather not have a crowd, I prefer to just deal with the prospective buyer" I said I never said we were all coming, they will all be at rhapsody. He didn't like that either. Lol
I guess he's so rich he doesn't want a bunch of potential sales coming around.'lmao!
This is why I don't go listen to too much equip anymore!
At this point I'd rather drive to Boston to goodwins. I have a 3 day job in mass in October . Maybe ill just wait.Steve

Re: Q1
That's some good customer service, Steve! All you guys should get half juiced and walk over to his shop and get all "touchy feely" with his gear! Maybe the guy around the corner is taking away all his business!!!
