Magico S5 mk3

Video courtesy of Jay's Audio Lab, the debut of the Magico S5 2024. Sounds pretty nice as far as I can tell.

After hearing the S5 in Munich, the proper way to describe the S5, it’s S3 on super steroids. Amazing ability to go lower octaves and pressurize a big space

That is what I am anticipating in my room. I appreciate you sharing your first hand experience in Munich.

One more Munich 2024 show report featuring the Magico S5 2024 from Tom Martin of TAS. Interestingly, TAS's Robert Harley's comments in his Munich Show report were somewhat tepid in comparison. Another example of why, if at all possible, one needs to audition gear first hand.

Magico S5 clip begins at 6:10.

This is the latest update I have received regarding shipments of the S5 2024.

My local dealer was informed that a pair of graphite grey S5 2024 will be shipped to them in October. This pair is headed to my home. Looking forward to a first hand demo although I realize it will likely require 400+ hours of break-in before they reveal their inherent character in the room.

Haven’t read Jeff Fritz commentary attached below, but I’m going to take a wild guess it is positive.
He said he owns A1, was going to buy A5, then he heard S3 2024 and decided to buy those instead, then he heard S5 2024 and decided to buy those instead. I bet he can buy them at a price that neither you nor I could. I'm surprised nothing in M-series cracked a mention.

I agree about the lack of mention of the M-series. I'm debating buying a used M2 v a new S3 2023. They are now very close in price. Leaning towards the S3 but I still have a few months before I'm ready to pull the trigger.

Agreed. I know he had the A5 (which is the same speaker I use) because it appeared in reviews he penned prior to his move to Magico. I have read and appreciated his reviews in the past. I consider him a credible source but now as brand ambassador for Magico, writing an enthusiastic article in the Magico Magazine regarding the S5 2024 (on the eve of shipping to customers) is difficult to take as other than advertising hype. Seems like a slippery slope for him to take.

Jeff's new job is promoting Magico. As he explained on a December visit to my local dealer, this is a career change for him and from I've seen a good fit.
