Magico S3 2023 finally arrived

So, after long, to long time, the wait is over.

This morning I received my new S3 (2023).
And wow, out of the box those little and heavy speakers sound....well, magical, just to think how well the will sound after break in.

Those are the first new S3 (2023) to lend in israel.

Should be a interesting breakin listening experience. I also noticed a lot of Cardas cables.

So far breakin process is much more friendly than previous generation, the sound open, airy, fast, natural and holographic. the bass drivers also sound quick and clear. maybe its the new foam the covers that new drivers employ instead of rubber they used to, I don't really know, but this speaker is very friendly out of the box.

on the Cardas matter, I have loom of Cardas clear cables installed, I very much like the result and sound they bring to the table.

Thanks for the info. I'm patiently waiting to hear the S3 for myself. Cardas is a North West company and I've used them on many systems. They work well for horns and most any system I've had over the years. Enjoy the upgrade!

The more I listen to them, i appreciate the work the guys at Magico did, the results exceed my expection even after hearing them at Munich. Those are very dear and speacial speakers.

I ordered my S3 the moment Magico started to get orders, of course without been able to hear them first. Heard them for first during my visit at Munich and really liked what I heard.

Three months later i finally received my pair, and I’m astonished from the way they preform out of the box, as I still remember how frustrating I was with the break in off previous version.

The new crate is quite compact and thus easier to store. Looks like a good design to me.

And after you get the speakers out of them they are not so havy, around 30 kg each.
Never the less and to the unfortunate, they still take to much real estate for me to store them.

They sound better then previous generation break in, quiet enjoyable, but less then in the first day (this part is non exceptional for every with every Magico or Tidal I have known), its a matter of time till break in will end, afterward the sound will be revealed in full potential.

Finally! After a prolonged break-in period for my S3s, interrupted by the events of October 7th, I can say the break-in process has successfully concluded.

The outcome: Sound has blossomed beautifully, exhibiting an airy, rapid, and genuinely natural quality, accompanied by a mesmerizing holographic imaging effect.

The midrange is strikingly clear and authentic; listening to vocals or instrument through these speakers is an absolute delight.

The bass—it continues to astound me with its swiftness, clarity, and impact.

At this point, these speakers sound absolutely magnificence. Music gains a new sense of life, instruments manifest vividly, and every nuanced detail sparkles effortlessly.

All I can say, my sonic journey with Magico continues, and the pleasure derived from this experience is truly amazing!

Hi Nick

pictures don't show it well but there is a shaggy rug in front of the speakers as well as acoustic treatment behind the curtain and on the side walls.

I've been experimenting with different acoustics in the last couple of months, I believe the current result got me right to the place I desired.

Those with the non-premium finish do not (same as S3 MkII's). Cannot speak for premium finish ones.

I received my S3's and ACC last week, and so far I've been blown away with how awesome they sound! I can only imagine how much better they will get once they are broken in. Thanks to Wesley @ Neko Audio who has been extremely helpful, and I find to be one of the most knowledgable and honest person to work with.

These speakers just perform at a level I've never heard in any system I've owned. Of course I've never invested this much in any speakers. But, definitely worth ever dollar. I have over four hundred hours and at least six repositions later, they are locked in. I also agree getting room around the S3 speakers. The more room they have to work with the deeper and broader the soundstage. Enjoy your new S3's!
