Ideal Room Size for S7s
Hello all, my first time posting here, appreciate all the great things you all share on the board.
I am wondering if anyone can opine on an optimal room size for Magic S7s. Our library cum listening room is roughly 16.5ft wide by 18ft long by 11ft high and I am aiming to install a new setup. Is this too small a room for the S7s?
My alternative is installing the new system in the living room, which is about 40ft long and and 18 ft wide and 9ft tall. But then do I have the opposite problem - is that too big? I definitely do not want to use separate subs.
I will really appreciate any experience you may specifically have with S7s. Thanks, Ash

Re: Ideal Room Size for S7s
Your room would be fine for S7's. Big, but fine. S7's can really fill up a room. Either room would be fine.

Re: Ideal Room Size for S7s
Ken, thank you very much for your insights, very useful for me making a decision this big.
Mike, thanks, I like the fact that I will have flexibility ultimately for either room. My concern for the smaller room is that I will have to have the speakers close to the black wall, but good to have options.

Re: Ideal Room Size for S7s
Not sure what your listening preference is, what SPLs but I listen to a pair of a Harbeth 30.2 driven by a triode amp running at 30 watts in a 30x30ft listening room. I listen at typically 65dB average levels with peaks into 80dB. If my speakers can easily fill my room with normal listening levels that do not damage my ears long term, I’m sure the S7 will knock your socks off.

Re: Ideal Room Size for S7s
Good way to put it Serge, thanks for this perspective. Must admit my occasional tendencies to listen at concert level much to my wife's displeasure....experience of any other members with S7 much appreciated.
