I had my Magico A3s for about two years and they were setup in my room by a local dealer at the time. I had the good fortune to have Peter MacKay of Magico come to my house and do a real setup of the A3s. Thanks Ed Devito. The first thing he did was to get a couple of allen wrenches and tighten my driver screws. He said that since the Magico speakers are sealed that the internal pressure can loosen the driver screws a bit. After his adjustments to the drivers he went about to dial in the speakers for my room. The other day I thought I'd check to see if the screws had loosened up any. Since it had been about a year of usage from Peters work and adjustments. They hadn't moved much if any. It got me to wonder if any other Magico owners have ever considered or tighten up their driver screws since ownership.

I would think also possibly vibration from shipping may loosen them?

I think I'll stick with Peters understanding of his product. He also got me off of the Gaia II isolation feet and replaced with then the included spikes. And now Magico Apods. His reasoning being that Magico sealed speaker need to transfer the energy of the cabinet to the floor and Gaia type of speaker pads aren't made for this kind of closed cabinet. Changing to the spikes truly anchor the sound from the speakers.

It's great when you can get the info right from the best source!

Yes does pay to check Speaker unit Bolts/Screws/Torx/etc--pays to have a Torque wrench/driver etc and recommended tension setting for the speakers units.

Wilson I know for one will supply this info --they did for me.

Good listening,

Bruce

My speakers came with instructions to check the mounting screws at a month and then once a year. They have only needed tightening once in several years, but this brand uses wood screws into a wood baffle.

The short answer is yes. And that applies to all speakers not just the Magico brand.
Speakers vibrate and over time vibration can loosen up the screws holding the drivers. So it is always good to check.

You got me thinking....
I've owned S7's since 2019 and have never bothered to check them so I just did a few moments ago.
Seems there still very tight as I could not move them at all without the fear of possibly stripping the head.

Tightening bolts is part of the installation process and routine annual maintenance. M-series speakers come with a calibrated torque wrench for this purpose. All of my bolts were loose, and some were very loose. A few of the bolt heads were slightly under size (or had been rounded during assembly at the factory) and couldn't be torqued to the correct value due to the wrench drive head slipping. Magico sent me a set of replacement bolts.
