Power cord with 590AXii
Hi,
I am looking at upgrading the PC on my 590. I am currently using a locally made BIS Audio Maestro II.
I read that Shunyata is a good match with Luxman, but I'm looking for real-world experience.
What PC are you using with your 590AXii?
What have you tried that worked, and what hasn't worked too well?
Thanks a lot!
Patrick

Re: Power cord with 590AXii
I own a couple of the Luxman JPA-15000 cords that supposedly come with the Luxman 590 but I'm not sure it's included in North America. Personally, I think it does a lot right (especially at $150) and I have some pretty rarefied competitors that I've compared it against. Great tone and an incredibly low noise floor are the things that stand out to me. Soundstage is a little congested and thick, but I only note it by comparison.
How does the one you're using compare to this one if you have it?Christian

Re: Power cord with 590AXii
I have a 590AXII. I tried stock, Wireworld, Shunyata, Guerrilla Audio with Wattgate terminations... My ears did not tell me I am hearing anything different. Tried the same with my all tube PrimaLuna and same result. While I thought I could hear things 20 years ago in my other systems, I am no longer under the same spell and as such focus on the music more than cables. YMMV

Too bad, because we hear big differences on our 590. I am not saying this as a joke, but it might be the speakers. The Harbeth’s sound is so dominant. I guess that’s why Alan says a Japanese receiver is all you need. I think he uses an Onkyo?

Re: Power cord with 590AXii
Perhaps. Harbeth sound signature is such that I have let go of accessories. That's why I love these speakers so much and their sonic signature that let's me forget about audiophile things and listen to music itself. Sounds cliche, I know but it is true. I would hate to have to review things with Harbeth in my system The conclusions would all be, "sound musical and engaging"....
