Im privy to some top secret discussions, turns out that after the comparison it was determined, unanimously by a group of audiophiles, that the 590 significantly out performed the 595!!!

I’m a VU meter guy myself…if the opportunity presented itself

. Which it did, a local dealer had one with my name on it, but obviously, just didn’t feel it. Though at this level, these are solid considerations. Curious, what speakers were used in the shootout, @dznutz?

We have both in the store. Tough call. The 590 is warmer. Smoother. The 595 has more detail. Depends on speakers.

After the long comparison. I kept the 595 over 590. the 595 has more weight to the music which I love

Not sure where you are getting your data from but I know at least 6 people (myself included) who compared our 590s to the 595 and all of us preferred the 595.

Hello,
I am surprised to see that the weight of the 595 is lower than the 590mk2.
The 595 is using the jpa 15000 power cord. We should use the same power cord to compare these two brothers.

Can this L-595A SE drive speakers like mine or would it run out of steam ?
I remember a guy driving the same speakers as mine with a Sugden IA-4 which is only 33w class A.

Pretty sure it would.

Maybe the question is how loud do you want it to play? Just inherently, you could lose some meat on the bones from your brute Diablo 300.
If you have a chance and can afford a merry go round a bit, get one and try. These seem to have pretty good resale….

You said it my Diablo 300 is too brute for my Thiels, i need a much more refined amp with a lot of soul.
Musicality and class A is what Thiel speakers need to sing.
I mostly listen to Blues, Jazz and Folk.

IMHO the 595 would be a side step compared to the Diablo 300, some area's it might be better, in others worse.

As far as solid state integrated amps go, I think the Diablo is close to what you can do (I feel the same about my Moon 700i V2), only bested by the Humboldt that you already tried and maybe a few other "exotics"

I moved from an Aavik U-300 to the Moon 700i V2, I really like the changes that the 700i brought, but have to say that I also sometimes miss the area's where the U-300 excelled.

Very interesting thanks, that's true the Diablo 300 never runs out of steam no matter how loud you listen.
The problem that bothers me is that it's pretty agressif for my tweeters, it's not a smooth amp at all.
The Luxman will most likely be better in terms of musicality and soul but not for the rest.

I don't own the Thiels however I had no problem drove the 87db Harbeth M40.3 XD speakers. Pretty sweet sounding with that combo. Didn't find it was run out of steam.

Neither. To tame that Thiel tweeter, I would go with the AudiaFlight FLS10. It’s so smooth on top, it could even tame any Paradigm or Wilson’s circa 1990’s with those metal inverted dome tweeters.

I see that I am almost a year behind the last post in this thread, but am excited to report that my 595ase #275 arrived last week! I'd post a picture, but I seem to be too much of a luddite to figure out how to do it.

So all of a sudden an amplifier is not environmentally friendly yet there's households that have 2, 3, 4 electric vehicles that consume more power in a week than that amplifier will in a year? Its cute thinking for sure, I don't think electricity is the problem here.

You are correct. The total is 300. Supply chain/covid must have slowed or changed their production schedule. I was shocked (and thrilled) to have the chance to buy one through my dealer.

SimpleSimon, Stereo Magazine's article from 2021 does not agree with Luxman's current website description or the plate on the back of my amp. Luxman states in the last sentence that there are 300 worldwide:

I'd post a picture, but I don't have enough posts to show the plate that says mine is 275 of 300.

The way I read it was 300 for Japan + 300 for the rest of the world... I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time...

Doesn't really matter anyway anymore as it is sold out, be it 300 or 600...

The real sad news here is no more 590Mk3...

Thanks... I contemplated between the 595 and the McIntosh 12000. The 595 has not arrived yet. I hope I made the right decision.
