Re: Tidal Connect
I just sent an e-mail to Tidal to request the technical documentation for Tidal Connect, and see if it can be done on our products.

Re: Tidal Connect
It's worth pointing out that our current direct TIDAL implementation does have advantages (mixed local/TIDAL/Qobuz playlists for example), but if you're used to the TIDAL App, we can understand TIDAL Connect might be useful.

Re: Tidal Connect
Thank you very much @wklie and @thingswelike to consider this request. I would like to make an additional point. The world of online music has changed a lot over the past decade. Future audiophiles buy less, much less music than my generation (53 years old). They accumulate a lot of favorite albums. I've got over 1000 on Tidal. It is becoming more and more difficult to search your favourites. The Tidal app makes it easy to search by artist, alphabetical, by date, etc. I may be wrong, but unfortunately, the application of Lumin does not allow this management or these options. Qobuz also offers these possibilities. A future possibility in a possible update of the Lumin application?

Re: Tidal Connect
I think this is dead-on. I'm in the generation after you and currently sitting on a Hegel integrated amplifier without MQA support. I currently use a Node 2i for transport of everything digital, but I'm also forced to use its DAC for MQA. I've been thinking about upgrading to a Lumin T2 for transport and DAC for everything except whole-home audio distribution which is still via Chromecast. Although I tolerate Roon, I really prefer to use Tidal Connect and won't be touching the Lumin app with a 10-foot pole, just as my wife will only use Spotify Connect and won't touch the Roon app with a 10-foot pole. Long story short, I feel like I can validate your suspicion that younger people are less inclined to leverage a third-party's integration when a first-party is able to better organize the content.
The point is that I am heavily leaning toward purchasing the T2 and using it exclusively as a Roon endpoint, but support for Tidal Connect could absolutely tip the scales.

Re: Tidal Connect
I am also very interested in this feature
Globally I use Roon to play music in my Lumin. But having Tidal Connect enabled would give me the choice to use directly Tidal

Re: Tidal Connect
I am very interested in this feature; it solves my challenge of playing playlists where I might have 100+ songs, which I then have to manually delete song-by-song if I want to remove that particular playlist from my overall list (if that makes sense?) My normal workaround would be to just reset my overall playlist by deleting everything.
I have found myself actively avoiding listening to my Tidal playlists as a result, and just listening to albums, which are far easier to remove from the overall playlist.
Thanks
James

Any update on Tidal Connect? Can we expect this feature to be implemented somewhere this year?
