Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
Since a month now, I'm enjoying this marvelous machine.
Having received the remote control last week, I would like to go the Leedh route without preamp (Electrocompaniet 4.8)
I'm therefore looking for fair advises regarding XLR interconnects to feed 2 Electrocompaniet Nemo 600.

I have already gone through Peter, but would prefer to get your personal advise on various options considering Lumin X1 to Lumin amps instead.
Many thanks in advance

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
I would say that for cables if possible it is best to get them on loan , as different brands do different things.
but i will also say with a combo like Lumin X1 and Lumin Amp....do not use cheap cables.
And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.Flemming

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
I have the Lumin X1 connected via analog XLR outputs to Kii Three speakers. I have to say, the results are really nice. The Lumin X1 DAC is converting the digital stream to analog, and the Kii Three ADC is converting the analog signal into digital for DSP processing. I was pretty skeptical of this whole thing, but the results speak for themselves. When I get some time, I'll try Lumin X1 USB to the Kii Threes and compare.
I use cheap cables from Blue Jeans, Belden 1800F balanced cables. They're cut to unequal custom lengths, because it convenient for the room and my layout, and my audio nervosa does not extend to the humanly indistinguishable latency differences of the speed of light over a distance of less than a few meters. The Belden cables measure exceptionally well and Blue Jeans even includes the measurement results when they ship you the cables.

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
Thanks to BlueFox and others I bit the bullet and bought the Shunyata Sigma V2's. I have tried so many cables and these cables are really something especially with the Lumin X1. Also, the Critical Mass Footers are excellent under the X1.

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
Lumin X1 = 13 400€
Shunyata Sigma V2 (XLR 1meter) = 6 500€
It does not make much sense to me

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
If cost is an issue, there are other less expensive Shunyata offerings. I use the Delta and I’m happy with the results in my system.

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
I cannot give specific recommendation on cables. I notice the brand discussed above is quite popular for our users in this forum.
On the subject of inexpensive XLR balanced interconnect, check this out:
Mogami XLR Interconnects
I think the above thread included Mogami, Belden and Canare. For completeness sake: Some people like Sommar Cable, and a distributor of a certain DAC recently recommended it. Gotham cable is also fairly popular as a DIY cable in my region.
From an engineering standpoint, a lower capacitance is preferred for an interconnect.Peter Lie

Re: Lumin X1 interconnects to direct amps
BRD,
Another way to look at the cost of the Shunyata cables is, with running them direct to amps you have eliminated one set of interconnects saving that cost. And, keep in mind that that one set of cables between the X1 and amps is now the most important cable in the system and will affect sound quality the most.
