Lumin U2 Mini

MinimServer should be available from either Synology and QNAP respective app stores. After you have installed it, configured it to have the correct music directory, wait for it to complete scan. Then in Lumin app, choose the library to be MinimServer.

I'm noticing volume playback differences between tracks on Tidal.
Some albums sound just fine with the volume control on my preamp set at 11am and then some albums that need to be turned to 3PM.
Is this a Tidal "thing" or something my Lumin can adjust?

This is normal with all media across all music companies. To a less extent, the same is true for audio in movies.

To alleviate this somewhat, you can turn on Spotify Normalization in Lumin if you listen to Spotify.

Lumin doesn't have volume leveling for Tidal / Qobuz yet, for these you may use volume leveling in Roon.

It's a "mastering" thing. Same reason you will often notice the playback volume of TV commercials are quite a bit louder than the actual TV program.

I never really noticed that much of a difference playing CDs but with streaming it can be quite a bit.

"Small" upgrade of U2Mini ... ;-)

I built a Sean Jacobs LPS for my U2 Mini and it made a huge difference. We all know how important the power supply is. That's why the higher Lumin models have much beefier power supplies.

I have two U2 Minis. I've loved them a lot, until two days ago when the newer of the units stopped working. It froze up. I turned the power off and then on, and nothing. It will not power on at all. It's not the fuse. I changed the fuse to put in one that I know is working.

The unit is under a two-year warranty.

Thoughts and/or prior experiences with this? I have a message in to the distributor but have not heard back.

I'd contact Source Systems, LTD., who is the US distributor, to arrange service/repair.

You might also DM Peter Lie, who is a member here and works for Lumin, about his recommendations for service/repair, but my guess he'd recommend the procedure I've described above.

Sorry about the trouble. Please contact your your regional distributor (Source Systems for US) for getting it repaired.

Thanks. The U2 Mini is on its way to Source Systems. Should arrive Monday. I'll post and update when I know more.

May have been covered elsewhere, but in the Lumin App i'm trying to work out if there's a way to sort albums by recently added instead of alphabetically. I often add albums throughout the week then settle down weekends to go through them. Alphabetically, it's hard to work out the new from the old.
