Lumin U1 - playlist question
A feature of my Lumin U1 that I really like is that I can keep a continuous running history or "playlist" of all of the tracks I listen to. This allows you to easily scroll through your history and pick previous tracks that you want to hear again. I realized yesterday that I could no longer play new music, because the U1 caps the running playlist at 2000 tracks. You have to delete existing tracks on your playlist in order to free up room for new tracks. Is there any workaround so that you can keep your existing playlist without deleting all of your music history?

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
Please tap the button below the playlist in Lumin app, you can then save/load multiple playlists in the Lumin app. If you have iCloud enabled, the playlists will be synced to iCloud as well, so you can access them on another iOS device, or restore them in case of app reinstallation.

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
I guess one could make up a folder of tracks that they like and name it something that would show up at the top of a folder list or album list (e.g. A1 Playlist, A2 Playlist) and then go and select it

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
I find the playlist feature of the Lumin app to be difficult to fully understand, and have lost additions to an existing list by not properly following the required protocol when switching from one list to another. It would be extremely helpful if the tutorial were better written and more detailed. Granted, I am not as gifted as many when it comes to what is assumed to be an intuitive process, but I can't be alone.

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
I agree that the playlist function could be more functional. It works well when focusing on one play list at a time - you can add and delete tracks easily, although you then have to re-save it by typing in the same playlist title again. It would be great if tracks could be added to an already saved playlist at the same time when you have a different playlist loaded.

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
We recognize that the playlist operations could be confusing, so a few months ago we changed the Lumin app UI for playlist load/save to be more clear.
Since Lumin is OpenHome compliant, users may also check out other OpenHome controller apps such as Linn Kazoo and Bubble DS Next, to see if they offer some features Lumin app does not have.Peter Lie

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
Interesting perspectives.
Personally I really like the playlist functionality (altho I agree it's not intuitive). Once learned, it's got a better feature set than other apps I've tried. I absolutely love that I can manage "local" (Lumin/iCloud) playlist and/or Tidal. And that the current playlist is basically "dynamic" and just created as you play music - which you can then save or clear, as desired. That approach is unique and serves multiple purposes. Very well thought out and somewhat ingenious in it's simplicity.
That said, I think for new users, a better tutorial somewhere would definitely be useful. I'm extremely computer literate and it took me a little bit to figure it all out. Now that I have I'm extremely happy with it. Please don't change it too much!Main System

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
It would be nice if the U1 would tell you which playlist is currently open as Aurender does.
Sometimes I'll close the app, come back a day later and have to guess which playlist I am saving new additions to.Le Roy

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
It should be pointed out that the app's functionality is not unique (I believe) to the U-1, but remains the same with all models.

Peter, How do you enable iCloud to sync playlists? Sounds like a cool feature, but I can’t find how to enable it.

On a fresh installation, the Lumin app will prompt for iCloud access. To enable it later, do this:

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
Hi.
I resume this "old" thread just to ask you.. how can I manage on iCloud my playlist? Is it possible to read the data direct from laptop/iCloud?
Thanks

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
Although normally not necessary, if you use the Files app on iOS, you can browse the iCloud drive and find the Lumin playlist files.

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
Thank you; can you -please- write the full diagram? I mean, iCloud --> Folder ... --> because I don't find on my iCloud the Lumin playlist files.
Should I have the Lumin device powered "ON"?

Re: Lumin U1 - playlist question
Again thanks, I found it but... there are the playlists' titles only!
When I try to open it (the file) or download it... nothing is inside.
There are only the titles of the playlists on my iCloud and no album/track name saved
Or... better to say: with windows I can open a "40 pages of Word" full of graphics.... lahfciuwahc ie qijòio1h3ux3 8y4p928y4 3 for example.
