It looks like the T2 replacement is on the way. LUMIN T3
Does that mean we can expect to see an X2 anytime soon?

I have the same question as you Jeff.
Although i am really happy with my X1 , and still learn how much cables can do.

Likewise, I am really happy with mine and see no reason to change/upgrade (at this point in time).

    Re: Lumin T3

I see that is has the new processor and smudge-resistant finish, and analog buffer with X1 technology, but I’m not sure about the chasis. It is described as CNC paneled that is better than the D2, but is it also different than the T2? (Since the T2 is now archived on the website, I couldn’t find the complete description of the chasis any more.)

    Thanks for any clarification!

You can access the archived Lumin T2 webpage [archive.org]. The T2 also featured X1 technology in its analog output stage.

The chassis is exactly the same as the T2, with exception to the new bead-blasted surface finish.

Thanks for the info, NekoAudio and dznuts.

Like others have said, I'm also not in a rush to replace my T2. (It will be nice if I ever get the replacement board, which has been in the works since February.....)

    Re: Lumin T3

Has anyone done a comparison of the T3 to the T2 in terms of announced specifications and features? The T3 is priced at about $5,350, which is quite an increase over the T2's $4,500.

I took the Canadian price and adjusted it in US dollars as an approximation.

Thats not how Distribution and pricing works. Call the US Distributor and ask them directly what their retail pricing will look like

I’m wondering if we can see Lumin come out with a replacement for the S1. Maybe something that isn’t Sabre based? Maybe something different like a R2R DAC. What’s the latest Wolfson like?

Listen to all current Lumin models except the S1. The replacement for the S1 would be nice, a class AB amplifier (100-150 watts per channel) all in one. Because if they replace the S1, then an X2 has to come, I think.
