Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
I received my T2 last week and simply love it. The positive difference in soundstage vs my previous DAC / Streamer (ESS 9028Pro as well - fed by an Auralic Aries G2.1) is beyond expectation and simply amazing - the unit is not even fully burnt in.
The T2 is now connected via Shunyata XLR to my McI C70 PreAmp.
My question :
Since I have two separate McI systems, can I connect the T2 both with balanced and unbalanced outputs to both systems - of course using / powering only one at a time.
Is there any sonic / audible disadvantage with the T2 to have both the XLR and RCA outputs connected with cables to a PreAmp ?

With T2 / D2 / D1, no problem as long as you don't have a ground loop this way.

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
Thanks a lot Peter, will give it a try.
Bud, not in different rooms, I live in an old / renovated farmhouse and my living room is 80m2 and 13 meters high with 3 open levels. The RCA is supposed to go into a McI C8 to a McI MC275 which feeds the smaller upper level zone.
The hardware is all in one rack, the RCAs will be max 0.75 meters, the speaker cables for the upper zone are 12 and 14 meters long. The hardware rack has a Harmony Hub, hence I can control both systems no matter on which level I am.

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
Peter, I assume this would work with the X1 as well? I've currently got it connected via XLR to my integrated amp, but wondering if I get a headphone amp would it cause any issues if I connect the X1 using RCA out? Of course I would only have one amp powered up at any one time, either headphone amp or integrated amp.

With X1 / P1 / S1 / A1 / T1 simultaneous connection of XLR and RCA analog outputs will degrade the SQ.

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
Good to know, thanks for the information. I guess I could leave the X1 connected to the Diablo and then use the Diablo as a pre amp only to feed a headphone amp.

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
Sorry to bring back an old thread. I have an A1 that I use RCAs to my main system. I would like to connect the XLR outputs to a bluetooth transmitter to use outside. I do not use both at the same time. I do not have access to a preamp out for this.
So, as Speedskater commented, the XLRs would be unbalanced and not sound their best (not an issue for me). My question is would the RCA sound quality be affected by having both connected simultaneously?

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
I don't think that it would be a problem for the RCA connection.

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
Glad I found this thread. I would clearly have an issue with a P1 connected XLR to the amps, and RCA to a headphone amplifier.

Re: Lumin T2 - XLR and RCA both connected ?
Thanks, Peter, will do. Just a note that I had an audio buddy over recently and we were using the P1 as a “preamp” along with my EAR 324 phono stage while listening to LPs and we were both very, very impressed with the P1 functioning just as a “preamplifier”. 👌

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
