Lumin supports Tidal Connect

Hi Peter
It works fine in my Android smartphone but I don’t see the T2 logo in my iPad…
Any thoughts?

Please kill the Tidal app on iPad. Turn off the iPad WiFi. Turn it back on. Then relaunch Tidal app. If that does not work, please reboot the iPad. If that still does not work, please reboot the whole network starting from the WiFi router.

Hi

Updating my T2 was successful.
My IPad Pro, Lumin, TIDAL App is all Updated.

But I cant See Lumin T2 on TIDAL Devices.
Only in the AirPlay Area I can See the T2.

Rebooting Wlan on iPad and Pushing the TIDAL App does not help.

Any Ideas ?

Same issue
Tidal on android smartphone shows T2 icon
But iOS on iPad doesn’t, only on airplay…
Also after rebooting all the chain

Hi Peter

My A1 updates automatically when I turn it on, everything works fine.

Front panel display now shows Spotify/TIDAL text when streaming from those sources.

Many thanks to all Lumin Team

Hope to be able to use Tidal Connect in future updates if possible.

Now it worked !

Shutting T2 down
Push Lumin App and TIDAL App away
Shutting IPad down

Turn Lumin On
Turn IPad on
Open TIDAL App

That‘s it ;-)

the new version appeared tonight..Thanks Peter.tried all the moves above and still do not see the TC icon anywhere

Please power down the whole network, starting from the WiFi router, and include the iPad and Lumin, Roon Core, etc. Then power them up.

If you can access the router setting, multicast routing and IGMP Proxy needs to be on.

Important:

In iOS system setting for TIDAL, you need to Allow TIDAL to Access "Local Network" and "Background App Refresh".

small update - after upgrade firmware from 14 into 14a Tidal became unavailable on Linn Kazoo desktop app - I can see and play downloaded queue, but in source section I've got only Qobuz, Internet radio and my NAS :-/

where do I find that ' local Network and Background App Refresh'.......when I access the Tidal app through my iMac I see the TC icon in the rt lower list of icons..am I supposed to see this icon when I open the Lumin app, and if so how is it supposed to be used when playing music..?..sorry to be so stupid...I can help you understand 'interstitial lung disease' if you're interested.

The settings I mentioned are on iPad system setting (for Tidal), not within Tidal app. If you are using Mac OS, the settings would be elsewhere and I don't know.

You need to find the speaker icon
device_output.png
in Tidal app and tap it. If you use Tidal Connect, you use Tidal app, don't use Lumin app.

It's not caused by the upgrade of Lumin firmware.

It's caused by Tidal switching over to OAuth login scheme, breaking the Lumin-Linn OpenHome Tidal interoperability as I mentioned last year:
Lumin app - Tidal OAuth login method - OpenHome

You can no longer use Linn app to login Tidal from Lumin hardware, or use Lumin app to login Tidal from Linn hardware.

“Access local network” was the key to solve the quest … :hey:
Thank you

THnX for info. So for now Tidal connect is major solution, but I'll be patiently waiting for Tidal desktop app for Windows ;-)

Peter…everything is going through the Tidal app on my iPad. Music playing from LUMIN X1. So far…about 3 hours of listening,,,the Master tracks are superb. The ‘HiFi’ tracks are great too. Love the lyrics also.

Finally got Tidal connect to work. However, played about 8or 9 tracks from a playlist then it stopped. Not sure why as there were many more tracks in the playlist.
