Lumin Remote on X1
I just received a new remote today. I have an X1. It’s not working. I was told I didn’t need to connect the IR receiver to the X1. If I do need to connect the IR receiver I don’t see a spare USB jack on the X1 to do so. The batteries were installed and the red light is lighting up when I push a button. Thanks.

Re: Lumin Remote on X1
You do definitely need to use the IR Receiver.
LUMIN P1 is the only model with a built-in IR Receiver.
If you haven't got a spare USB slot you may try a USB splitter (Ozzy on this forums seems to have found one that works well here), but only if you use the USB slot for storage and not output.
Alternatively, as it sounds like you were misinformed about this requirement you could pursue a return of the remote.[Associated with LUMIN]

Re: Lumin Remote on X1
The USB IR receiver does need to be plugged in (except for P1).
You may use a USB hub if you need to connect a USB storage device together with the IR receiver. We tried an Amazon Basics hub that functioned normally.
Alternatively, you may move the USB storage device to a NAS or computer and run the free MinimServer there. This is better.Peter Lie

Re: Lumin Remote on X1
I use my remote on the X1 with a USB hub with the IR receiver and a USB stick with music files both plugged into it.
Works perfectly 😉

Yes...it makes for a BIG improvement. Every demo I've heard where at Altaira was in the system, folks listened, and then the Altaira(s) were removed, and folks immediately demanded the Altaira be put...
