    Lumin L1 connection issues

L1 works perfectly... but when I tried to connect it to my PC with the supplied USB cable the unit would not connect. HD spins up but its LED remains red and unit wont turn on with the press of the power button. Any ideas as to whats up?

And also, does anyone know if you can simply send files from your computer to the L1 over the network?

    Re: Lumin L1 connection issues

Please power cycle the L1 by unplugging the power supply. Please try a different USB cable and connect it to a different USB port at the back of your computer.

In the current firmware there is no way to transfer file via network. Only USB file copy can be done.

I powercycled several times as well as tried 2 different USB outlets. I cant use another USB cable as its not a regular cable, Im using the blue one supplied with the L1.

It is a regular USB 3.0 cable. You can use a regular USB 2.0 cable too.

    Re: Lumin L1 connection issues

I have discovered the issue to be the Lumin supplied USB cable. Tried another cable I had and the unit was recognized within 5 seconds. Its almost unbelievable that the cable supplied with this $1200 NAS does not function correctly.

For anyone interested, Lumin has not only looked after me but is also assisting me with the USB cable. Im quite surprised by the support!
