    Lumin HDMI output

What is the purpose of the HDMI output on the Lumin S1? Would HDMI output bypass the D/A converters?

As joeinid pointed out in another thread, Lumin can output 2-channel PCM or DSD signal via HDMI. Yes, it bypasses the D/A converters. The other (probably better) digital output is to use the BNC SPDIF output, which support PCM and DSD-over-PCM (DoP) over coaxial, if your DAC support that.

When the Lumin A1 was first introduced, HDMI was the only option to output DSD signal in early firmwares, before Lumin adds support for DoP over coaxial later.

    Re: Lumin HDMI output

I used the BNC output to both my AMR DP777 and then the 777se with great success. it was certainly easy to A/B as i just switched inputs in my pre. In The end, I could hear no material difference between the Lumin S-1 and the AMR. (That says a lot about the Lumin to me) I sold the AMR and kept the Lumin. Never looked back. I think the BNC cable I used was a Black Cat from the Cable Company. I was able to use the BNC with no adapters on either end, which probably helps.

There a converter, which allows me to take a DSD over HDMI from my A1 and convert USB to a DAC Lampizator?

Not that I know of. I think there may be rare products that are able to convert SPDIF 176.4kHz to USB (instead of the common USB to SPDIF conversion), but I don't know whether they work or not:

Lumin U1 is recommended for use with Lampizator DSD DAC, because U1 can convert PCM to DSD and send it to a USB DAC.
