The Lumin Application
As posted on another thread, I am delighted with my new Lumin, now that it has been in my system for the last 7 days, playing 24/7. I moved my iTunes library over to the NAS successfully, and have been moving titles into playlists. However, I find the app to be missing many of the features I previously enjoyed such as 'smart' playlists. There are many instances where the cover art does not correctly match the music, and I haven't figured put how to make corrections. I am sure there is much to learn, and hope others may have suggestions and tips to share. I would also hope that the app will be improved upon in future updates, but unfortunately we do not have the resources of Apple behind it. Comments?

Re: The Lumin Application
If I couldn't get the correct album art to show it would drive me nuts. I simply would not use it. Hope you get your issues resolved as many others seem to have fixed the missing art problem.

Re: The Lumin Application
So far I like the Lumin app ok. It does some things better than the ChorusHD app I used on my Linn, but in some ways the Chorus app is easier to use. I probably would stick with the Chorus app for everyday use,if it worked on the Lumin. The Lumin app gives you greater adjustability.
Michael, I've had no problem with getting the correct album art, if it's on the NAS file, I get it.Mark

Re: The Lumin Application
I've been going through the process of getting all of my album art to appear correctly within the Lumin app in preparation for a Lumin I just ordered.
I found that even though all of my artwork shows up correctly in iTunes, a lot of it doesn't appear in the Lumin app. This appears to be a problem/inconsistency of iTunes not always correctly creating a JPG file of the artwork.
If you're using a Mac for iTunes, I found this Doug's AppleScript that imbeds album art in the music files as a JPG file as I recenlty posted one of the other Lumin threads:
Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes ? Save Album Art as folder.jpg v2.5
I've found that what works best is to delete the album art, then relaod it, then use this app (which attaches itself as a little icon in the top of the iTunes window) to create a JPG file of the artwork. Then it shows up correctly in the Lumin app.
Maybe others have different or easier ways of accomplishing this...Rance

Re: The Lumin Application
Thanks Rance. I think the problems that we're talking about are not really problems with the Lumin, but problems getting all the right info on the files. If the files on our NAS are correct, the Lumin will give it all back to us.

Re: The Lumin Application
I did have a weird album art with the lumin with the wrong apart being on the wrong album.
I reloaded the directory on the app and it's working great ever since. I had that problem with the Linn once too.Jock

I did watch the broadcast Shogun when it came out, and once as re-run. It was great. I read the book at least once, and some of the following books. I also purchased the original series on DVD. ...
