    Lumin app + Sonos

    Hi all,

Trying to get used to using the Lumin app for my U1 Mini, instead of Roon, but I’m having a few hickups. I am using Tidal exclusively, no local files, no Radio. Nothing else but Tidal.
However, I have a few Sonos speakers in my house. They are used solely alone, for its own use. Not together with my hifi-setup, which contains the Lumin U1 Mini. But when I use the Lumin app it detects the Sonos speakers automatically, and seems to default to some folders from them.
Further, when not having used the Lumin app for a little while, on my iPhone the app goes straight into the Music Library settings when opened:

On my iPad, it always opens in the folder view, showing folders from Sonos:

How can this be prevented? Is there a way I can disable the Music Library/Media Player detection? Preferrably also Radio? I only want Tidal showing up.

You may select another library as default, such as installing MinimServer on a computer, or simply inserting a USB thumb drive (not SSD) into the Lumin USB port.

I do not want any folders showing up, and do not need a library. So I obviously do not want to install a separate computer to remedy this. Is there really no other way?

Same exact problem. The folder doesn't bother me too bad, but weird that the Sonos folder appeared soon after I got the Beam for my TV upstairs.

The folder does not bother me too much, either. What really is bothering me is the Lumin app firing up the settings for music library when launching it.

And what is bothering me even more is that Lumin does not seem to care. I really apreciate Lumin/Peter participating in forums like these. But telling me to install a server or inserting a thumb drive to fix this, tells me the app has got a really faulty design. I bought a product costing me lots of money, and I want to use the included software. But it is not working as it should. There should be an option to choose not to have a music server. Just a simple enable/disable switch. Is it really that hard, Lumin?

You could logout Tidal from Lumin app, then try the free Linn Kazoo app. There are other OpenHome / UPnP control points you may use with Lumin, even including JRiver or Audirvana.
