In addition to a Lumin T2, I have an auralic altair streamer. The auralic app has a feature that I hope Lumin eventually incorporates. This is the ability to view pdf album booklets in the auralic app. Would Lumin consider providing this feature?
I have asked the big names with their own player (Auralic, Aurender, Innuos, Lumin, Naim, dCS) last year about that very feature + the ability to view multiples .jpgs and only Auralic could see and open .pdf files back then.
I did a trial with Roon last year as well and It could do it too. While a truly fantastic program, I didn't like Roon and the way it opened the pdf in a new window every time and too many clicks to get to the music. Most probably a case of old habits die hard (or me being an old fart!). I am too used to JRemote/JRiver I suppose. But JRemote change the pdf/Asset feature this year and It doesn't fill up the screen completely no more. Not sure I like it. Again, old habits die hard...
I always wondered If it was just me that was weird (which I am!) for wanting/needing pdf booklets so bad. I often scan my own CD/LP booklets and create my own pdfs out of it (of favorites of mine). For me, it is paramount to the experience of music and I always wondered why It wasn't a de facto feature for all players out there but for some technical reason I can't phantom, It obviously isn't. I wonder if its laziness or If it is really complicated to add...
Again, maybe I am just an old fart, but I grew up listening to LPs and looking over and over and over to the cover art was part of the experience...
Bottom line, as far as I know, to see pdf booklets now, your choices are JRemote, Roon or Auralic.
