Lumin App with Minimserver tagUpdate on Linux

Myself and another user of Minimserver have come across an anomaly with using tagUpdate with Minimserver and the Lumin app.

It seems that if you use the Minimserver tagUpdate property on a Linux system then the Lumin app will do a re-index regardless of whether any changes have been made to any music files or whether a scan/rescan has been done

Simon Nash of Minimserver cannot see how tagUpdate would make a difference to LUMIN reindexing. Changes to the tagUpdate file won't be applied until the next MinimServer scan, rescan or restart.

He thought this should be a question for the LUMIN developers as only they know its inner workings. So here I am

This will need some time to investigate.

Re: Lumin App with Minimserver tagUpdate on Linux

Please check this operation for both Lumin iOS app 9.2.1 and Android app 6.2.0.

I tested and could not reproduce this with Lumin iOS app 9.2.1 with MinimServer 248 on Windows, with tagUpdate in use.

Re: Lumin App with Minimserver tagUpdate on Linux

    Peter,

The other person who experienced this commented:

"Lumin didn't re-index my Windows install which has the same tagUpdate script as is on Linux.
I then removed the tagUpdate script from my Linux install and no further indexing"

So it appears it does not exhibit this issue on Windows. His Linux was running on a Pi

I have now tried applying a tagUpdate file to MinimServer running on my Melco and on my QNAP.

Neither now exhibit the problem. MinimServer was at update 248 when I first tried this and had the issue.
Lumin app has been updated to iOS app 9.2.1 and Android app 6.2.0 and were running earlier versions when I first tried.

I assume you have did nothing in these updates to address this issue. So I am at a loss to explain why its "fixed" but glad that it is.

I will post back if it subsequently reappears.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this and sorry for the inconvenience.

    Regards, Peter
