    Lumin App Issue

    Hello. For the last couple of days, I have been unsuccessful in using my Lumin D2. The app crashes each time I try to open it and select Qobuz. This happens on both my Iphone X and also my Ipad. Both devices are fully updated. I've tried power cycling the Lumin and both devices and also the router with no success. I've also deleted the Lumin App from both devices and reinstalled it. No success that way either. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

    Are both on iOS 12.2?

    Please use Linn Kazoo app temporarily while we investigate this problem.

    Alternatively, you may use Qobuz app on iPad then AirPlay to Lumin if you're not streaming HiRes.

    Yes, both devices are running 12.2. I will look at the Linn app later today after work. That would be better for me than Airplay since I do like to stream hi res.

    I've installed the Linn Kazoo app on my iPad and the Lumin D2 has been working perfectly with this app. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm hoping that the problem with the Lumin app can be sorted out and I will check back here often. Thanks again, Peter.

    Same here! I able to open Qobuz with Lumin app on my Lumin T1, but it keep crush every time when I try to open my Qobuz favorite list on both my Ipad, Ipad mini with IOS12.2, been trying for 2 days, and no luck the app just quit every time when I try to opening Qobuz playlist. NAS file playback seems no any issues.

    PS:Linn Kazoo app seems works just fine with Qobuz, but I do wanna lumin app back asap. I seems cant live without lumin app now. Thanks!

    Our preliminary analysis is that Qobuz changed something. We are working on the app to accommodate that.

    I wish more manufacturers would provide the same level of customer service that Peter does for LUMIN. His responsiveness is second to none.

    We've been working over the weekend and have submitted Lumin app version 6.1.8 to App store on May 13. It typically takes a few days for the Apple approval process before the app will show up.

    Lumin app 6.1.8 has been approved by Apple app store already. It should show up soon. Please try it and let me know whether it solves the app crash when accessing Qobuz. We'll check the Android app and make corresponding change once the fix is confirmed on iOS.

    I have been using the updated app for the last couple of hours, and it has been totally stable for both my iPad and my iPhone X. No crashes at all and Qobuz loads perfectly. Well done Peter! Thanks

    Just loaded an updated version of the Lumin app - 6.1.8. Release notes indicate bug fix for Qobuz. I don’t have the problem reported but, once again, the speed to correct issues is second to none. Well done Peter and the Lumin team!

    Hi everyone!
    I'm having a hard time using Tidal with the Lumin app.
    Here's the problem: when I select a playlist in Tidal, the first track plays, then when it finishes, the next track won't play. I have to press the Play icon for it to start, then it's the same problem again.
    I updated the app just yesterday, and it didn't change a thing. I find it is now slow.
    I also swiped the app, opened it again, no difference.
    The weird thing is that when I got my D2 2 weeks ago, everything was good, then last week it started acting up.

    Please power off all your network devices including Lumin and iPad. Power cycle the WiFi router and all network switches. Wait for 5 minutes then power up the Lumin, iPad and other network devices.

    New here. Decided to register because I’ve seen how helpful you have been Peter with the many Lumin questions.

    Anyway, I just got my Lumin D2 in today and have it all set up. Simple connection to my NAS no issues. So I’ve just been trying to familiarize myself with the Lumin app, and I’ve hit my first issue. I’m hoping you or anyone might be able to help. I think I’m just missing something simple, and I’m going to feel like an idiot, but when I’m browsing Tidal albums for instance and I select a track to play from an album it won’t automatically play the following track from the album, unless I add the entire album to the playlist screen. So I guess my question is how do I play a tidal album in full without having to add that album to a playlist? It appears every track I select to play from tidal adds it to a playlist screen.

    Sirry that hat was long winded. I hope it makes sense what I’m trying to ask.

    Lumin conforms to the OpenHome standard, therefore it is playlist oriented. In its native mode (i.e. not AirPlay, Roon, Spotify Connect, radio, etc.) it can only play a music by having a music added to the playlist. Therefore, you will have to add the whole album to playlist in order to play the whole album.

    To add the whole album, please tap and hold the album art, then choose one of the add buttons in the pop up menu.

    Thanks for the info, and I’m happy to learn I’m not going crazy. It’s not a big deal, and I’m already getting more comfortable with it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious...which is always possible.

    Was also wondering your recommended settings for the D2. I currently have it setup using the recommended settings according to the website, and using the further refined dsd settings.

    So I just noticed an issue last night. When I add an album, or multiple tracks, from tidal to the playlist to play one after another the D2 is just skipping past every track except for the first one o click on and play. After that first song ends, it shows that it moves to the next track but instead of playing the track it pauses for a moment, and then goes to the next track in the playlist, pauses and then goes to the ne t track, etc.

    The d2 has no problem playing an album I add to the playlist from my personal media server files. It plays all of the individual album tracks one after the other. This issue is only happening with Tidal songs.

    Thoughts? I’ve tried power on/off, deleting the playlist and creating new one. The only thing I haven’t done is a factory reset yet.

    If that only occurs with Tidal: logout Tidal from Lumin and all other devices, web browsers, and your family members' devices. Power cycle Wi-Fi router, wait for 5 minutes.
    power cycle D2, then login Tidal.

    If that does not work, change router DNS to 8.8.8.8. Then power cycle D2.

    I never tried a complete power cycle of the d2, so I did that and it seems to have fixed it. Alls good, thanks!

    In my view the Lumin app is an example of very good UI design, but there doesn't seem to be a wish list yet, so I add mine here:

    1. Bigger back arrow button, it's the one thing I use all the time while surfing Qobuz and I have big fingers
    2. Possibility of showing Qobuz pdf booklets.

    Hi, I really like the Lumin app (and the other comparable apps as well ie HR Teac and Esoteric). Very helpful to browse music on NAS and on Tidal and Qobuz. I use it as a control point with a Bubbleupnp server on my Marantz ND8006 (openhome enabled).

    But I have some problems with the Lumin app (and the other comparable apps as well) and I hope you can advice me here to resolve them.
    I have also some suggestions as you will find below.

    1- on iOS
    a- Lumin app (and the other apps since the recent update) freeze when I don't use the iphone/ipad for a short while (5-10mn). So I have to kill the app and reopen it in order to get the right played song displayed again. This is critical for me so I am really impatient to have your advice/explanation on this.
    b- I really enjoy the possibility to sort albums and playlists (by date, artist, name) when browsing on Tidal. Is it possible to make it happen when using Qobuz as well?
    c- It would be helpful to enable the browsing back gesture (like it is the case in iPad) : maybe by creating tabs in the bottom of the app (playing now, playlist, library).

    2- on Android
    a- It is disappointing that sorting capabilities are not enabled in Android as it is in iOS. Would be helpful to make it happen in Tidal and Qobuz (as Bubbleupnp does).

    I tried hard resetting my iPad and reinstall ingthe app, no luck.

    Where did you get that version of IOS? I have latest version of IOS, and it is 12.4.4

    Which iPad / iPhone models are you using? (Unless you want some new feature from iOS 13, you don't have to upgrade.)

    iPad Mini and iPhone 7. The iPhone is at 13.3, but the iPad is at 12.4.4, and says it is up to date. Both devices work fine with Lumin X1.

    Older iPad Mini 1/2/3 are no longer supported by iOS 13.

    Lumin app requires iOS 8. (Roon Remote app requires iOS 11.)

    Hello, I purchased a new Lumin U1 Mini last week and I have an Android phone (Samsung S10). The Lumin App worked the first time I used it last week but it has stopped working. It seems to be stuck on one song. If I choose another song it will show at the top in the app for a few seconds then revert back to the original song. Sometimes that original song will play and sometimes it doesn't. I can not use the streamer. What do I do at this point? Will an Apple iPad work better? Thank you

    Is your music placed in MinimServer, or USB thumb drive?

    Please reserve an IP address for the MinimServer, or Lumin (respectively). Reboot the respective device, and re-create the playlists.

    Hi Peter, thank you for getting back to me. I forgot to mention that I am using Qobuz exclusively using the phone, no thumb drive or server. I am brand new to streaming and I'm not very computer literate. I'm learning about this stuff as I go but when it was working everything was easy to use.

    For Qobuz, please add different 16/44.1 non-Hi-Res albums from the Top albums and retry at non-peak hours.

    Please also make sure your Qobuz subscription payment details are valid.

    It's too bad I can't listen to Qobuz in Hi-Rez. I purchased this unit for this purpose. Is there another streaming service that works better such as Tidal? Would an iPad work better? Thank you for getting back to me
