Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
I bought an M1 Laptop this weekend. My wife has already taken possession of it! Terrific laptop. Love that screen by the keyboard. That’s fantastic that it runs the Lumin app too!

Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
And the terrific battery life too. Today I went to work with 55% battery in the morning. And finished work with 30% left after continuous 3-4 hours of usage

M1 is a great computer. Bought one today. Picked up a dock and 3 new 4K monitors. Needed an office upgrade.

Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
By the way, when we purchased our MacBook M1 from store, the staff highly recommended we purchase the AppleCare, specifically saying it covers keyboard failures.

Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
Although my coworkers did not listen to the advice, I'm sure it is a sensible one. I would have told them to buy the AppleCare, but I was not with them when they went to the store.

Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
Depends what needs to change with the keyboard. When replacing the older gen keyboards they also ended up replacing the battery. I had mine swapped under AppleCare but I imagine having it done outside of warranty would be expensive. Not cool, considering it should be an easy swap, but it is what it is.

Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
By the way, in a similar way that keyboard is not replaceable other than replacing the entire MacBook "top case", now the SSD and RAM in Mini M1 are not replaceable as they are soldered to the logic board. So nearly the whole thing will have to be replaced when the SSD dies.
Moral of the story: buy AppleCare for computers.Peter Lie

Re: Lumin app on Apple Mac M1
Some of the butterfly style keyboards used in the past had issues. The current Mac laptops have been using a new keyboard design for a few years.
