    Re: Lumin Android app 4.0

Dear Peter another new release for Android App that is very good..!!!

Thanks to all Lumin´s team usual support and specially for you.

I have just downloaded the new version it is even more stable than previous one which was improved too.

On the other hand let me tell you that the new layout is really good..!!!

I was not able to move the "Now Playing" panel to the bottom of the screen.. may be you can give me some advice on how to do that.

    Regards.

    Hi Fer1000.
The setting for the position of the 'Now Playing' panel is at the bottom of the App Settings menu.
So just tap the cog icon, scroll to the bottom and it's above the 'about' section.

We've updated the Online Manual to show this too:

    Many thanks..!!!!

I did no realize that moving the position of the 'Now Playing' panel was located in the new the App Settings menu.

Now I have just done it.... really good.

Another question in Tidal desktop there is a place called MY COLLECTION and inside "Mixes & Radio" on that Section it appears some Labels that I mark as "Favorites" for example appears "Most Listened for April, May, etc" one per each month, or maybe "My Most Listened" etc, etc. is it possible to see that on Lumin App..?
Because I can not find it I have just found "My Mix" but regretfully it is not the same than Mixes & Radio.

    Many thanks.

    Re: Lumin Android app 4.0

    hello all,
a brand new user of Lumin U1-Mini here and not aware of this forum,
i just fired off a not-so-enthusiastic email to Lumin outlining the following issues after just 1 week of usage:

    1) upon resuming from inactivity, now-playing is not in synch
with actual music that is playing on u1-mini. this is the case nearly always.
i have experimented with android app setting: optimized for battery.
and it seems to improve if it is set to 'not-optimized' but not 100%.

when now-playing is not in synch, the clock on the app is not ticking.

    2) app running on pixel 4a/5g performs a lot better than on amazon fire-hd-10,
which is understandable since the former is both more powerful and physically smaller.
    when my-favorites/album is selected, images in grid are loaded quite slowly on fire-hd-10;
so much so that there are several very-visible refreshes of the screen.
this is of course quite distracting.

    i believe the images should be loaded progressively instead of all-at-once;
i.e., load only when required and what is visible on the screen.

    3) certain radio stations will not play;
now-playing shows correct station info. here are two:
    91.9 HD2 | WUOT-HD2
89.9 | South Carolina Public Radio

    4) this bbc station causes strange behaviors:
BBC World Services UK (World News)
when selected, app jumps to Albums page of local minim server.
    and app is basically non-functional.

    5) sometimes when the app is started fresh (not resumed),
it does not discover the u1-mini. then, i have to stop the app and try again.

please comment on these 'cause i am surprised at the app's low quality,
especially compared to something like Tidal app on android which i stopped using due to its
lack of Connect services. i have tried Roon in the past but did not think it was worth the cost.
Spotify has its connect pretty much functional but they lack hi-fi streaming and editorial material.
so, for now, i'm counting on Lumin to either support Tidal Connect or improve its own app or both!

Yes, I'm running 4.0.1. and yes, that is my default solution: restart the app.
    But that gets tiring...

I don’t know if I am lucky but I am just amazed at all the app issues people are having. I am using the app on both my iPhone and iPad with my X1 and only have one minor issue. On the iPhone Lumin stopped displaying new albums after around 1200 songs. The iPhone correctly shows who is playing, and the contents of the playlist. It just doesn’t show new albums added to the directory. The iPad Mini works fine. All software (Lumin, iPhone, iPad) is current.

    hello, peter,
can you confirm or deny that stated issues are real and reproducible?
and if valid, are solutions being worked on?

    Re: Lumin Android app 4.0

We have always been continually improving our apps.

Many possible factors affect radio playback, some are related to location and ISP. A few are using unsupported format.

You cannot use an underpowered device to run the app, that's true. Since the release of Android app 4.0 I prefer to use my own Snapdragon 865 phone instead of the iPad Air at work.

well, i found the answer and it's called Linn Kazoo for android.
no learning curve, no bugs (so far), good performance even on a cheap fire-hd tablet.
it is incumbent upon Lumin to match and exceed their competitors in their app design and functionality
in order to maintain respectful reputation of hardware equipment.
