Thread: Call for Tidal Connect beta testers

Those with a Lumin X1 / T2 / U1 / U1 MINI and a Tidal subscription, and would like to beta test Lumin Tidal Connect, please let me know. I hope to have a beta firmware ready by early July.

I regret to say that other Lumin models have a platform limitation and therefore cannot run Tidal Connect for now.

Awesome. Though I am no longer a tidal user, i love the fact that future software updates are visible and on the horizon for release!

I think i have missed out on what Tidal Connect is ?

Bummer, my former top of the line Lumin A1 streamer doesn't make the grade.

Are there any SQ benefits with using tidal connect? Or is the allure to use the native tidal app just like Spotify connect?

This way you can use Tidal app (instead of Lumin app) to play Tidal on Lumin hardware.

The SQ should be the same.

I'll be available since July 18th, so if it's OK I'm interested in.

Status update:

Tidal Connect is fully functional for Lumin X1 / T2 / U1 (MINI) at production quality. We are waiting for Tidal feedback and other administrative stuff before public release.

Thanks to everyone’s support, our Tidal Connect certification is proceeding exceedingly well.

Is there plans to also include Tidal Connect on Lumin A1 in the future..?

@Lumin team. Will there be update to the just the app itself or will there be a new firmware release as well? If the latter, can we expect other SQ upgrades or features included on that release?

There are platform limitations with those models.

There will be a new firmware. New app releases are not too related, it just allows the disabling of this feature of new firmware on supported models.

Other features are minor. One beta tester reported better SQ with Roon.

Those who were running the beta firmware should have received instructions from me about upgrading to official firmware. If not, please PM me.

If you can internet upgrade to Firmware 14, please do.
