Lumin already supports the free Jazz Groove via TuneIn.

We are working on adding support for FLAC Radio (especially Radio Paradise), there would also be a few free FLAC Jazz radio stations. In addition, the Jazz Groove (paid) FLAC is also something we're trying to support.

In the upcoming firmware, there will be three free Jazz / Blues FLAC radio stations, and five free classical FLAC radio stations.

Working with Jazz Groove and their streaming platform provider, we will also support Jazz Groove Premium FLAC channels (there are five). I'm listening to it right now.

Jazz Groove Premium FLAC is also basically working with Lumin.

Love Qobuz with flac and hi-Rez stuff. But just subscribed to Jazz Grove Premium for the five flac stations and have an issue with loading to my U1. Don’t know if it’s Lumin side or the URL from Jazz Grove but the following is what I sent to Lumin Customer Service today.

“ So I operate the Lumin U1 and have firmware 14.2 installed. With that the firmware did install all the 47 flac radio stations and they all work fine.

I went ahead and upgraded to the premium Jazz Groove radio station and installed the 5 flac stations on their premium channel to the Lumin app per the instructions. All 5 icons are there but only 2 stations load properly to the Lumin U1 itself. The station The Jazz Groove Mix #2 and Dreams work and sound wonderful. The stations Mix # 1, Gems and Smooth Jazz display the names constant with a flash or two of the timer amount and the streaming “flac 44.1Mhz. 16 bit” but then goes away with no sound.

I have tried loading several times from the website to the tunein app to the Lumin app to no avail. Tried Turning on - off unit and still nothing, can you help out with any suggestions?

This could be a regional server issue that only affects some users.

FYI for anyone happen to be experiencing a similar issue.

To debug this, you need to use a web browser (Note: I use Firefox) on a computer or smartphone. Open the Jazz Groove account settings page and sign in to your Premium account, go to Audio Setting. Choose the FLAC quality, a station you’re having problem with, and Stream URL (not PLS). Copy it to a new browser tab and play it using the browser. If you can reproduce the problematic playback with the computer or smartphone, copy the URL from the browser (it is no longer the same as the one on the Jazz Groove account page because it has already redirected you to a new regional server - you need the final link) to an e-mail.

Once you’ve got the actual final (already redirected) link(s), you can send these links to Jazz Groove support, they’ll forward it to the streaming service provider and fix the problematic regional server.

So I tried exactly what you asked and I could not make it fail or duplicate the problem. I have tried several times at different days and times using Microsoft Edge browser and it played on all 5 Groove channels Every time, no issues. I could not make it fail so I can not
Send you a bad URL. I am on the same WiFi system from the house. This tells me that the regional server is good. Firmware 14.2 issue, anyone else having this issue?

I have contacted Jazz Grove support several days ago and have given them my issue on their end as well but have not heard from them since.

Also to note, previously Mix #2 and Dreams was working properly. Now Mix #2 and Smooth Jazz are working and the other are not.

Please send me via email or PM (do not post to public as they contain your paid account details) the URL for the stations, and indicate which of them do not work with Lumin (even if they can play from Edge browser).

@TheGiant another subscriber just sent me a link that I've verified to be non-working in Firefox.

Apparently my instructions are unclear, anyone having an issue with it please send those links to me instead of Jazz Groove support. I'll determine whether they are the correct final redirected link. Without the correct redirected link indicating the specific regional Jazz Groove server, this cannot be debugged by the radio service provider.

The provider said they're looking into the issue.

Since my last post, my subscription to the Jazz Groove premium Flac channels on my U1 have been sporadic. Sometimes all 5 channels work then only two work then none work, very frustrating. All other Flac stations imbedded by Lumin seem to work fine and any other non Flac station I update with TuneIn Radio also work fine. Very frustrating!

On the subject of Jazz Groove, the type of FLAC problems discussed earlier in this thread should have been completely resolved by a Jazz Groove provider infrastructure maintenance 7 weeks ago.

Lumin Firmware 17 also adds Mother Earth Radio Jazz 24/192 as a default (free) FLAC radio station.

Over the years, among support requests of radio stations, I've noticed a disproportionately high requests for Jazz, more so than any other music genre. This is somewhat surprising to me. Anybody cares to comment about this?
