A1 does not read folder, and makes shooting noise when changing songs

    Hello everyone!
does any of you know how to deal with the problem that lumin app sometimes opens folders and sometimes does not. And there is no pattern on how it opens. It will open one forder and it would not open the other. Then i try to open the folder I could open and this time it would not open. My storage is NTfs 3 tera usb disc. Another problem is acually very scary. When I chane a song from a list i get a very high lever sound like a gun shut. The same sound I get when i push next song.. Im worried for my speaker's drivers as they might get dameged.

    anyone has any idea?

PS it seems to me it started after the update in december

Turn off upsampling. Peter mentioned that this could be a potential problem with the beta firmware in an earlier post.

I think there's a possibility that your USB HDD has developed bad sectors or is dying. Please unplug it from Lumin.

I would suggest you plug it into a computer, run a SMART HDD diagnostics using any relevant software from your HDD manufacturer or third party, and see if there's anything abnormal.

I'd recommend setting up MinimServer using a computer, or Synology or QNAP NAS. (And backup your music data.)

Although I don't think the firmware caused your problem, if you like I can send you the previous firmware for Lumin.

Re: A1 does not read folder, and makes shooting noise when changing songs

When I first got my S1 I would occasionally get a burst of white noise when a song started. I reported that and a firmware fix resolved it. That was a couple of years ago, and it works fine since then. Hopefully you are using current firmware.

Re: A1 does not read folder, and makes shooting noise when changing songs

Hello Lumin brothers and Peter Thanks for helping. I tried two more usb discs and both usb slots on the lumin. The folder reading has not improved and again it reads some folders and does not later on different discs.
Will try to turn off upsampling, not sure how it can help with folder reading...
Well yes, the "gun shuts" come back when upsamling is on, and they disappear when I turn upsampling off. But i like the sound with upsampling better))

the folder not reading is still a mistery. Peter please send me the older firmware with instructions how to load it..

I have a d1 but when I change songs, or stop it, change folders, I hear a slight higher pitch tick noise from the unit itself almost like a confirmation that it received the input of what I was commanding it to do but it's never been through my speakers.

I agree with Peter, before fore you go crazy trying to figure it out, make sure you run a drive test to ensure it doesn't have an issues.

That's the sound of the relay, and is normal.

If you're worried about it, please turn Ultrasonic Filter on.
