    Kharma DB11-S tweaking

In Kentucky today for a visit and some tweaking of our friend and customers DB11-S’.s.

We have the DB9-S in the store. They are incredible. However, I was not expecting how much better the DB11-S’s ($54k) are. They have a superior cabinet, bi-ampable, bigger bass drivers and are 12 inches taller and 6 inches deeper. The client loves them! I can hear why! I’m still in shock! Incredible. Wow. Terrific with the VAC.

I'm not surprised. The Kharmas have a magic that I've never experienced with any other speaker.

Wow Mike, I cannot thank you enough for coming up and helping with the Kharmas. I had a blast hanging with you! We listened to so much good music yesterday and today.

A couple of tweaks made so much difference. I can honestly say that the DB11-S far exceeded my expectations and work perfectly in my room.

Anyone looking for truly full-range speakers at this price point -- or even much higher -- should give these a listen.

We had a blast! Thank you to you and your wonderful wife for such southern hospitality! I thoroughly enjoyed hanging with you and listening to your incredible system. I can’t believe how big a step up the DB11-S’s are over my 9’s. Size and performance. Just phenomenal. The VAC is a terrific match too.

Fantastic system in a great looking room. I would love to hear more about the room itself including dimensions and construction. Per your signature, it looks like a custom built room. Are you pleased with the ASC wall system? I may be building a room in the near future and any insight would be appreciated.

Size is my only concern given my fairly limited space. M3s have a better footprint combined with sealed box design for me.

No, I really didn't. The upper tier Kharma stuff is simply gorgeous. I would love to hear a pair. Just hard for me to imagine how much better they could be than the Elegance line but I'm sure they are.

Does the 19’ mean 19 feet deep (as in, distance from wall that the speakers are parallel to, to behind your listening chair)? Mine is 17/18 feet, and I worry that given the footprint and that it is rear/ported, I don’t have enough space.

19' is the length of the front wall - i.e. behind the speakers. 22' is the distance from front to back wall.

They will perform best out in to the room a bit. Where mine ended up it is a little over 3 feet from the rear port to the front wall, and the furthest point out (the bottom front outer corner of the speaker) is a little over 5 feet out.

Thanks. I suspected as much. My listening space won’t allow the speakers to be this far from the back wall. Sigh. Will need to stick with sealed box design.

17'x27'x7' basement listening room. The more I read about the db11s the more I think they're too big for my room.

I think this is your post Mike?

Yes. You need a BIG room. Your sized room is best with DB9.
