I just picked these little babies up today. I am really surprised. Still breaking in and sound great.

You guys, Darrin and Randy, are right.

LoL

I thought you knew this LONG ago. They need power though...the more the better.

To me they impress more than the Blade Mk1

Hi Norman,

Sometimes I'm a little slow on the uptake. I've been looking for a few fun pieces to play with and these hit my eye. They sound great. I'm very happy and they will only get a little better.

Doesn't the Fusion with the KT-150s put out enough juice for the LS-50's that you wouldn't need more in anything but a large room? More important to me would be augmenting that bottom end like Randy did. I like you really like the 225, but I am starting to worry about Goldmund/Job's reliance on Srajen as their sole reviewer/voice piece. He is starting to sound more like a "cheerleader" than an objective reviewer. Reminds me of his days as the sales manager for a couple of speaker companies, plus his reviews are convoluted and excessive. Just my opinion and ymmv. Just get to the damn point without four pages of nonsense.

Joe,
Congrats on the LS50. It is a great mini monitor. Very neutral sounding yet pretty exciting and dynamic.
Just being curious, did you ever hear the Harbeth P3ESR ?

Just got my second system dialed today. TAD CR1 plus AMG v12 plus Air Tight and Marantz. Rocked out with Justin Bieber with my teenagers today they thought the sound was awesome LOL

Jack,

Yes, I understand but I have to believe, based on my Jobs before, they are all great pieces.

OMG! the Jolida kills on the LS50. Sounds awesome. The tubes in the GAT were shot, so I put in the new ones, the 6H23/6922 TYPE 3 from Upscale. These are great in there now, so much better. Kevin Deal was spot on. Glad I have a bunch of them.

Hi Jerome,

Thank you.

Not yet, but I'd like to get the P3ESR as well. I am going to wait until after CES to see if anything big happens.

Good tube amp is just the ticket for the LS 50s

Amen brother. I love them.

Joe,

I listened to the P3ESR next to the LS50.
I think I know which one you will prefer.

The LS50s are fun speakers to listen to. I do think you need to have really good stands at the proper height to obtain what is possible from these speakers. They also love power. When I reviewed them, I was using a Krell KSA-250 power amp and it was a sweet combo.

I love mine, and yes they sound a ton better when I put them on the stands... and even better when I added the Goldmund Job amp! They have the KEF smooth sound and amazing imaging that I was always so fond of!

As Jack stated, adding a little bottom end does not hurt these fantastic little speakers at all. In my situation I only added the tiny wonder from REL. As small of a sub as I have ever seen. Not only a perfect physical match it also seems to add just the right amount of bottom end. I do believe it would be easy to go over board with a sub. I do not think they need a huge amount. Especially with the Goldmund amp... the bass tightened considerably.

The LS50's and the P3's are about as opposite sounding as it gets. That said, both are fantastic in their own right. Congrats on yet another awesome set of toys, Joe!

I agree. Great little speaker. Makes me wonder about the Reference series and above. I am sure they are great too.

Randy, where do you have the REL's crossover set to, 40-50hz?

+1

I am sure, but I love variety. Having a different speaker/amp/preamp to go to is a wonderful thing.

Joe...congrats on the new LS50s

Thank you Cyril. I am having a lot of fun.
