Re: KEF LS-50 ... A true little gem
I am amazed how many times I see these little speakers mentioned... reviewers are testing other equipment using the LS50s, people talking about matching up the Job amp with them, etc. I am truly amazed how often they get mentioned now that I am paying attention.
It is so nice to see that my old favorites have a speaker that appears to be taking the market by a storm!
You get yours yet Joe?
BTW- Conrad Johnson told me today that the store that advertises on Amazon bought the entire run of Classic 2 pre-amps.... I am soooo up in the air right now.... You could send me a CJ to listen to for a while to help in the decision ....McIntosh C49, MC152, MR85, R778 | T+A DAC 8 DSD | KEF LS50 Meta w/S2, KC62 (x2) | Rega RP8, Ania Pro, NEO PSU | Technics SL-1500C | Audio Technica VM750ML | Hexmat Eclipse, Yellow Bird, Molekula, Molekula Mini | Pro-Ject VC-E | Falcon NW PC Server (Roon Core & HQPlayer) | Microsoft Surface Pro 6 (Roon Controller) | Abyss Diana Phi | Schiit Jotunheim 2 | Astell&Kern SE200 | Oppo BDP105

Re: KEF LS-50 ... A true little gem
Ha!
You're funny.
I hope to pick up my LS-50's tomorrow, if I can take the day off. My Klipsch RP-160M's should be here Thursday. This is getting fun.
If I sent you my GAT, you'd be stuck to the ceiling and someone would have to peel you off.
Once you got back down, you'd immediately send me a paypal gift. I really don't want to do that to you.
Every piece of CJ gear comes with a 3-pack starter of Depends.
Spearit Sound is a good dealer and tight with CJ. Since you are getting the attenuators, it will most certainly be a great combo methinks.Last edited by joeinid; December 29, 2015 at 08:26 PM.

Re: KEF LS-50 ... A true little gem
Yea, now I got to get the wife to accept.... she was not real with it when I brought it up last night.... even when I said I could get a couple grand more from the McIntosh than a new pre would cost me... I think she wants me to settle for a bit.... Now if I had the Mc sold well that might make a difference.... the thing is the Mc sounds incredible and is an amazing piece, just would work better using it to it's fullest instead of my not using anything but about 20% of it's abilities...
If someone made a reasonable offer for this 2 month old piece that retails for $6000 I would probably take it because the CJ would probably fit my setup better... but dam, that McIntosh is gorgeous... and growing up in Binghamton (Yes weird eh, I grew up in the shadow of the Mc factory)... I am having all kinds of conflicting emotions going on ...McIntosh C49, MC152, MR85, R778 | T+A DAC 8 DSD | KEF LS50 Meta w/S2, KC62 (x2) | Rega RP8, Ania Pro, NEO PSU | Technics SL-1500C | Audio Technica VM750ML | Hexmat Eclipse, Yellow Bird, Molekula, Molekula Mini | Pro-Ject VC-E | Falcon NW PC Server (Roon Core & HQPlayer) | Microsoft Surface Pro 6 (Roon Controller) | Abyss Diana Phi | Schiit Jotunheim 2 | Astell&Kern SE200 | Oppo BDP105

Re: KEF LS-50 ... A true little gem
Serious though, the McIntosh MXA70 was bought from Audio Classics.... in Vestal (Just down the road from Mc).... my old stomping grounds... I am original owner... he looked up manufacture date, July this year if I am remembering correct... Absolutely mint, the speakers are hooked to a Yamaha in the TV setup... gorgeous little Black Piano finished speakers... Since I knew all the same people as they did (I used to run a hi end audio store right next to where they are located) they gave me a good deal... .... see what I mean... this is crack....

Audio Classics is awesome! Love those guys. If I lived closer, I'd be there so often, I'd be a pest.
Put the MXA70 in the Fish Market: http://www.audioshark.org/integrated-systems-163/
It will not cost you anything and put retail and ask price, you might get lucky.

What are you going to push the LS-50's with, the Jolida or something new? If you need a small sub to run with them you might want to look at the NIB REL T-7i I was telling Randy about on AC. Just down the road in NJ.

Re: KEF LS-50 ... A true little gem
Hi Jack,
The Jolida is first up and I may stop there. A friend wanted them and may take them from me if he falls in love with them and I think he will. With all the LS50 talk around, I had to hear them.
I am looking at the Harbeth P3ESR for a computer setup as well. The Klipsch RP-160M's will probably end up in the office.
That REL is a great deal. Thanks!

This is the only review of the Bliss I could find and it is of the standard version. According to Bob the Silver is a significant upgrade. Give him a call he is straight forward and knows both the Reynaud and Harbeth lines inside out. I know according to their website, East End has the Bliss set up in a demo room along with the Harbeths and the LS-50, so might be worth the drive across town. Since you like SF I think Reynaud would be right up your alley and they are 90+db efficient and good down to the low 40's hz. I have their predecessor the Twin Signature in my office with a Kora hybrid integrated and love them.
