I have a pair of F110's connected to my Classe CP800. The CP800 has bass management functionality built in. I cross it over at 50hz. If I was to go with a different preamp, could I use the adjustments on the front of the sub to do the same thing or is there no way (other than something like the Pass or Bryston crossovers) that would prevent the preamp from still sending the signals below 50hz to the main speakers as well?

Ok, without the crossover, if I just set the subs to kick in at 50hz, won't that sound pretty good with the Mementos? I know I will get a double dose of about 40-50hz....but is that a big deal?

You could probably set it a little lower and still hear tremendous benefit.

A little late to the discussion, but thats what I do with my Sasha's. I tried external crossovers and found they took away some of the dynamics. The F110's still can be dialed into the right volume and then once you do you can run the room correction routine on each one individually with the included mic. It integrates quite well and the sound is very nice. Initially I had the F110's xovered at somewhere around 100hz, but found they integrated even better when set for around 55-60hz.

I use a pair of the F110V2. I cross at 80Hz. Regardless of how low your mains go this is where the JL AUDIO suggests to start

After comparing my JL Audio's to REL, there was no going back. REL all the way. Very musical subs. If I want HT for "crash, boom, bang", then JL Audio might be better.

Mike, having fast articulate subs, home theatre gives me the shits. :D
