    Jeff Rowland fans? Any current owners here?

    Anyone here currently using Jeff Rowland gear in their system? What are you using?

    Many years ago I owned his Consummate preamp. It was really good.

    How are the current offerings? I’m intrigued by the current 625 S2 amp.

    As an old Toolmaker, I was always a fan due to their machining as well as SQ. Never owned any but have loved them since I first saw the gear 35 years ago.

    I can only imagine. I don’t remember seeing any local dealers selling Rowland now. The husband and wife stereo store that I used to visit all the time, sadly closed due to age and health issues. They were a wonderful couple and let me play with everything. Jeff Rowland gear was one of their big lines and sounded awesome.

    Hi Keith,

    A good friend bought them. I have to say as good as they were on my Avantgarde. I prefer the SIT3. It’s a little more laid back and mid hall effect. I think part of it is my room is a little on the smaller side for my Avantgarde so I’m already a little closer than I probably should be. The SIT3 are perfect from their perspective in my room. I bought a backup SIT3 and sold the SIT1.

    Rowland is superlative gear. I have the 625 S2 plus Corus and PSU. It is basically built by hand, by Jeff. I had the good fortune to spend the day with him at his factory several years ago...a total gentleman. JRDG owners tend to buy and keep long term.

    I've owned the JRDG Corus and 625 S2 since 2013. They drive the mids and highs on my Raidho D3's really well. The D3's now produce the mids and highs and a JL Audio F212v2/CR1 crossover produces the lows since early 2019. My audio system now creates fully palpable music from the very low to high frequencies.

    Not only beautifully built gear, but great sounding gear. There's a good reason there aren't many available on Audiogon.

    Re: Jeff Rowland fans? Any current owners here?

    Hi all, I have been away for a spell from Audioshark, yet more than ever I continue to be a great fan of Rowland gear...

    My system sports the amazing M925 monoblocks as my reference amps.

    I also have a bridged pair of the adorable M535 amps. These are enhanced by the unassuming yet incredibly effective slip-on caps on the bridged output terminals. These push the already impressive performance of the bridged pair through the roof. The M535 pair costing some 20% of the M925s, they deliver a stellar performance that I would rate at upwards of 65% of M925.

    The Rowland Aeris is still my DAC, but I have enhanced it very much by adopting the Rowland external PSU (Power Storage Unit) -- An external dedicated ultracapacitor-based power supply designed to be compatible with Aeris, Corus, and Conductor.

    What gets me excited is that before long I will be inserting in the system a Rowland Daemon superintegrated. In addition to a 1500W amplification section, This creature is said to sport a linestage circuit superior to Corus, and a DAC section which is said to get Aeris to bite the proverbial dust... I will be using Daemon as a full integrated, as well as a DAC/linestage powering M925s. I am very keen to explore the audible difference between these two Daemon applications.

    All my wiring is by Cardas... While I have had some fine wires from other brands in the past, this Cardas loom is by far the most synergistic that I ever had in my system... Clear Beyond XL power cords on amps/, Aeris/PSU, and original Clear on my Esoteric X-01. Analog ICs and speaker wires are Cardas Clear Reflection, while a length of Clear digital coax connects X-01 to Aeris. Incredible frequency exttension at both ends, unreal harmonic complexity, and not a trace of screechy intermodulative artifacts anywhere... Just clear emotional sound true to the source, liquid and subtle where needed, yet energetic, fast and authoritative where required by the music material... As I said, a perfect synergy with the Rowland house sound.

    My speakers are still the Vienna Die Muzik... And they won't go anywhere soon!

    Regards, Guido

    I have been a fan of Jeff Rowland equipment for the past 8 years and have been most happy with the sound and great customer service that the company gives. Jeff Rowland himself has called me several times and has given me excellent advise. My complete system from the 925 amps, Corus & PSU as well as Aeris have been amazing and I look forward to up-dating to future new products from Rowland. A class act all the way.

    Looking inside my 925 amps, I see there are 2 of these fuses per amp.
    Wondering if replacing with audiophile type fuses would bring positive results?

    Hmmm... There are four possible outcomes to tinkering with non-factory-approved parts, such as 3rd party fuses:

    * Performance is enhanced.
    * Makes no difference.
    * Performance suffers.
    * Sparkles... Swirls of pretty blue fumes, followed by delicate scent of charred electronics.

    Bottomline: I recommend you check with the Rowland factory before plunging into any such adventures.

    Re: Jeff Rowland fans? Any current owners here?

    While I’ve had some good success with aftermarket fuses, I’ve since accepted the sound out of great audio gear as is, without trying to improve what has been achieved. I’ve had a handful of expensive fuses pop for no apparent reason, effectively throwing good money after bad.

    Hello Guido:

    I am looking forward to hearing how the Daemon worked out in your system. I did not realize that the preamp in that unit is better than the Corus and the DAC is better than the Aerus. Please let me know your thoughts once you have implemented the new unit. Thanks Sam

    Hello Sam, I have not received Daemon yet.... I will definitely post to this thread as soon as I receive the unit, and I might in fact create a new thread dedicated to my Daemon experiences.

    As for Daemon performance, yes... All rumors I have heard point to its linestage besting Corus, and its DAC being audibly superior to Aeris.

    I can't wait the "joy" of hoisting the 99Lbs darling *Gulp!* to my listening loft!

    Re: Jeff Rowland fans? Any current owners here?

    My beloved Rowland M925 monoblocks have been making fantastic music without a glitch since May 2013... For the last few years, I have been feedin
    M925 directly from an Rowland Aeris DAC,this powered by the Rowland PSU ultra-capacitor-based external power supply. Yet, I have been wondering for some
    time if my audio nirvana could ever be uber-nirvanized, as the technology of audio reproduction has continued to evolve. So, when Rowland released its
    statement integrated amplifier in the form of Daemon, I became curious. Could an integrated equal, or at least get close to my Aeris + PSU + M925 trio?
    I was long hoping to evaluate the Rowland Daemon 1500W Superintegrated amp. Could a class D integrated fulfill my yearning for sonic bliss, or would Daemon leave me pining for the wonderful music of my separates: Rowland Aeris DAC fed by the ultra-capacitor-based PSU external power supply, driving my beloved M925 monoblocks? Eventually, a Daemon review unit was delivered on February 28th. I Started break-in the following day, and have been scribbling my listening notes since… The writing project will continue for at least a few months, until the device has stabilized, and I have exercised several of its many input and output features. I have been waiting for a long time for this 99Lbs single box critter. It is Jeff Rowland’s integrated statement. The DAC + Preamp + 1500W/8 (2500W/4) dual-mono power amp in a single chassis measuring 17.5” x 15.25” x 9.5” has been sounding extremely musical since the beginning, truly great since it crossed the 150 hours break-in mark, and just about astonishing at 500 hours… And this is just half-way into the break-in process. hundred hours of break-in.

    Discovering the phenomenal musical beauty that Daemon produces is being a fascinating experience… Already I am stunned by Daemon's power reserve and unreal tonal grace. Join me to chat about my adventure with this integrated flagship around its AudioShark watering-hole:
