Re: Two years lurking is enough
Dan- I'm just having fun- I am serious as heart attack about audio, so that makes two of us. Thanks to the power of the internet I know your real name and I didn't immediately connect it with a bra size. Still, I know that must have crossed your mind in the user name picking directorate.
Good to know that you have noble intentions, I had no ulterior motive - Those were just the questions I wanted to ask. I apologize if my snark and sarcasm didn't meet it's mark.
Both Dan and Mike are some of the biggest fans of Music & Audio Gear. They follow the cavalrymen's credo of "Ride fast, shoot straight and speak the truth." The best advice I have ever received in the last 7ish years is reading their posts or general interactions across the internet. I think this all started on Audiokarma and spread to AudioAficionado and AudioShark. The more the merrier and I hope we all stay connected and share the latest gear or better subjective or objective ways to enjoy music.
Best,
Bill

Re: Two years lurking is enough
I found it odd that the usual new user - Welcome thread got so long so I decided to plow thru it again.
Now I realize who Double-D is. Dan, good to see you here. You helped me out a bunch over at that other site before I was banned under a different name.-----------------

Re: Two years lurking is enough
Brian.......Thank you. I remember many conversations with you. Good to see you chime in. To me, yesterday's news is ancient history. I'm more of a "be here now" kind of guy. This forum has matured over the past two years and offers a great group of members to converse with, a wealth of audio knowledge, and many other unique insights. Being able to participate rather than be an outsider took me a while. I had to feel comfortable enough to believe my presence here would represent a positive contribution to the forum. So far it has been good.

Re: Two years lurking is enough
So Dan...Just to confirm Double-D is simply an acronym of your name and has nothing to do with hot dogs!
I was blown away when I read that story about the dude's memoir, so to speak.

Re: Two years lurking is enough
Steve.......My first and last names begin with the letter D, hence Double-D. Like I mentioned earlier I have a few friends who haven't called me Dan in 30 years. To them I am Double-D and always will be. There must be something to it. I respond when they call me.
What you have been reading doesn't have anything to do with me, at least I don't think it does.Dan

Re: Two years lurking is enough
Dan...What I was reading came across as an amusing analogy to your chosen username. Indeed the person Double-D in the story was also nicknamed by his friends but for a very different reason. If you were endowed with his condition, I suppose you would have been nicknamed Double-DD.
