Sony made some really nice reel to reels back in the day! Good sound!

I also had a Beta Hifi 750 I think it was. I was making 5 hour mix tapes. SQ was always much better than VHS because the tape was wider and used more for the audio info than VHS.

VHS was used for ADAT recordings, VHS was not good except for Lofi home video.

Welcome Ryan. I look forward to your contributions. I would love a reel to reel but if I had one I would only want master copy recordings. A bit hard to find though along with limited selections. Enjoy the music!!

This young man, Ryan, has brains and manners. I’m happy he’s here. More audiophiles like him and this hobby lives on. Well done!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ4-ylhfz_I Thankfully I'm not this way, and Denis is being sarcastic. He's just the opposite, like me. Kind, loving, and a great man. I love this humorous song though.

Like Denis? Yes, I agree. He's a jerk in a lot of respects, but kind in others. I don't throw the baby out with the bath water with Denis, though.

Thank you for the welcome! You should get an Ampex 300, Studer A810 or Revox A77 if you want master quality, TEAC A3340S for excellent quality, etc.

I just help moderate. I'm not that technical. Mike started the whole thing and I was here from the beginning. It's V-Bulletin but I am not sure the whole software behind the forum.

We are going on 4 or 5 years, Mike can confirm. We've had a few but usually can stop problems before it gets out of hand. It's not easy. I just want everyone to respect each other and their opinions.

I do too. Spiking controversy is not right. I mean, stuff like religion and politics should not be discussed. It's unnecessary. 5 years isn't that long. Trolling is wrong and should be dealt with seriously. People have called ME a troll just for being so kind and proper. Some people are even "scared" of me. Weird.

    Well said.

Time goes quickly and life goes on. We are discussing audio, other hobbies, equipment, etc.

While I’d love to bring about world peace, it’s not going to happen. Hopefully we can have a little fun here.

I'm thinking audio engineer Mr. Brian. I think there's more profit in that than being a musician.

    Good choice Ryan.

Please, I realize you were raised to be a polite gentleman, but you can drop the Mr if you like. We all go by our first names no matter what age.

Why would I want to drop the "Mr?" It's incorrect to say "Brian" to a person older than you, or etc. I believe it's kind, so I do it. Audio engineers make a nice profit if you have a considerable following, which I already do, at 14. I've mastered singles, all kinds of singles, now, I'm going to master an album for some friends of mine.

I really appreciate your respect and politeness. And I realize that you know that you are talking to people older than yourself, but consider this, here at AS, you are as much of a Man and an Adult as the rest of us. You are one of our peers here and obviously wise well beyond your years.

If you keep calling me Mr Brian, I will have to start calling you Mr Ryan
