Re: Tube Integrated Amp recommendation ?
I was willing to change the source end interconnect if needed as it was not used for just background music. To me casual listening & burning 4 300b tubes was a luxury I would only occasionally indulge in .. ! I love background music also but have casual equipment for casual listening.

Re: Tube Integrated Amp recommendation ?
I had the Viva Solista integrated, pure heaven in the midrange with outstanding dynamics and very good well defined bass. At 22 watts it had it's limitations but it drove my Verity Amadis beautifully. Tried it on my Tannoy Canterbury with great success at moderate levels but bass got wooly and started breaking up when pushed.

Re: Tube Integrated Amp recommendation ?
hrm this thread looks interesting, I'm considering a tube intergrated for my bedroom system with vintage speakers, heard one today but I'm fairly certain the speakers the store used for the demo were a drawback. Shall follow this one, I could learn a thing or four.

Re: Tube Integrated Amp recommendation ?
i love the looks of that finale, and the price is very resonable for what you get, but i searched around and have not been able to find one to go listen to. integrateds and i have a love hate relationship. i went from stereo amp to an integrated , then to monos the back to an integrated. then to another stereo amp then back to integrated. then ive now had a couple pairs of monos in. and i just ordered another integrated and sold off the monos. i really hope this is "the one" but im nervous because every time i get an integrated i find a pair of monos i want. and oh btw the swap from integrated to amps always add and subtract a new preamp. i dont spend as much as alot of people around here on gear but i now realize i do swap equipment just as fast, im really hoping this is my last amp purchase for awhile ,at least until i figure out what speakers i want. and oh btw this is only the 2nd of about 12 amps that i purchased new. fingers are crossed!!!

Re: Tube Integrated Amp recommendation ?
thanks Doug from what i been reading about a ton of integrateds is they are getting the trickle down technology from their top of the line counterparts, and making the integrated the best value to sound in the line up. im not sure this was the case with alot of the integrateds ive tried in the past.

Prima Luna Dialogue Premium for the money to me is a big home run for PL. You want effortless, drop some KT 150's straight in, EL34's, 88's,120's, they're all auto biased, couldn't be easier. Sure I may have a 30k preamp in bypass mode into the amps, but hey, I'm hi-end maintenance.
